Day One Hundred One: Magenta | Color | Mauve It has become a common thing in our house that Sunday, after church, we just hang out lazily and cuddle and watch movies, munch on munchies, play games, etc... Games have been the favorite activity lately and today it was Monopoly and I actually won! I never win this game. We played for 4 hours! It's important to get these color sets to start adding houses or hotels on the properties. I owned this set among others today. They helped me achieve success through this game.

Day One Hundred: Pen & Paper | Writing | List | Notes
I used to journal like crazy when I was a teen. Everyday I wrote in those books. It's neat to look back and see the silly things I felt were important to me at the time. Today, however, my form of journaling is in my scrapbooks. I always journal by hand and will even have my kids journal things and my husband will journal events too just to change it up a bit and capture our stories in their own words. I took another quick cell shot today ~ but this time I played with an editing app that I have and liked this edit of making it look like a pencil drawing. Day Ninety-Nine: Where I Stand | Perspective | Look Down | Step Back My neighbor and I started waking up an hour earlier than we normally do to take a walk. We do a mile and a half Monday-Friday. It's been such an enjoyable time for me. We visit about our faith, our husbands, our kids, our work, our life. (We even chat about our businesses. She is just getting out there promoting her business ~ Michelle Oie Speaking. She can now be found on FB and does have a full website: michelleoie.com. She is definitely worth checking out. She is a wonderful public speaker)! I have found that I even wake up before the alarm sounds. This is pretty profound for me considering how much of a morning person I am NOT so by voluntarily waking up MUCH earlier than I HAVE to ~ yeah ~ that's big! Not only do we get to enjoy an early morning visit ~ we are also being active which is also big in my world because my day job requires to much time on a chair. I am feeling good and can't wait to see some visible results too! I snapped this with my phone (which I hate taking photos with) this morning during a lovely snow storm. It was quite brisk at times but we have been committed to this and even bring our dogs to walk with us. Day Ninety-Eight: Currently Loving... | Favorite | To Eat | Present
This is very much what my present is today and most Thursday's as a matter of fact. After bringing her brothers to school, Eve and I will do our errands and chores and then I try to make sure to sit with her and relax. She chooses a movie and we'll cuddle and be lazy for a while cuddling. Today we added a snack which I have been munching on a lot lately too. (Cell shot which I played with some fun edits). Day Ninety-Seven: Precious | Adore | Loved
It's been quite the week for this little guy and it's only Wednesday! On Monday, I spent three hours with him in the ER from 8:30PM to 11:30PM because when bedtime came we discovered a sore and a large area that was very red and hot to the touch on his right elbow. He made it to school all day yesterday and then when he got home, the rash had spread A LOT so daddy took him back into the ER. This resulted in him being admitted and was put on IV antibiotics. He was such a strong and brave boy through it all - even when getting poked quite a few times to get the IV started and having his blood drawn. I am very proud of him for that. He was finally released at 4:00 this afternoon and we are all very tired ~ Blake, having to live through it, and his daddy and I are exhausted from the worry and late nights with him. I think we are well on our way to recovery - he will be on a hefty regiment of antibiotics for the next 7 days but we are going to kick this infection out of his body. Unfortunately, we aren't sure what caused this... Possibly a bug bite, or a scratch that just got infected. That's quite frustrating because we don't know how to prevent it from happening again. He is such a precious and adored and loved little guy for sure! When his brother and sister woke up this morning to find that he didn't come home with daddy, they both wanted to say a prayer for him that his recovery is swift and that he could come home soon. I recorded them praying to show Blake when I got to the hospital this morning. Of course, my worry throughout the night made me insist on Mommy cuddles (which, thankfully, he doesn't turn down yet). He was a happy boy all throughout because he said it felt like he was in a hotel and the best part - he got lots of junk food from both grandmas and one grandpa who came to visit and he got to have control over the television without fighting with anyone about what he wanted to watch. Day Ninety-Six: Bread | Food | Baking | Nourishment
When you throw a delicious homemade beef stew in the crockpot for dinner - what's better than a freshly baked loaf of beer bread. If you have never had Tastefully Simple's beer bread - you are missing out. It will be the perfect side to the stew. I know this because I already had a sliver of bread and small portion of both for lunch. Couldn't resist having the bread nice and warm from the oven. Day Ninety-Five: Homemade | Natural | Handmade | Homespun
I love making things! I am not to far from a crafting store (about an hour away) and when it offers up supplies to make fun things like this - yeah - you can't keep me away! My kids wanted to include some of the agates they have found throughout the years and they chose the background papers behind the letters of our name. I chose the blue paint (which matches my den/office/scrap room/reloading room) and of course had to add our photos. I only wish there was one more spot to put a photo of our dog and cat together. Day Ninety-Four: In My Hands | Holding | Perspective | Reach Out
Some days these hands feel a lot of weight. Some days these hands do their best to stay afloat. Some days the stressors of being a wife and mother really take their toll. But these hands are so important. They reach out to hold the four most important people in my life: My husband and three children. They comfort, scold, caress, love, work, play, rejoice, and pray on any given day - taking in stride what this life throws my way. These hands will age and they will become unrecognizable even to me one day in the future – then, I'll look back on all the memories in my life and I will know that these hands made a difference - they continued to float - to stay above the water’s ever ebb and flow... They will make a difference in at least the lives of my kids and my husband and those hard days will just fade into the darkness. This life is worth it. The hard days are worth it. I am happy to be experiencing it all.
Day Ninety-Two: Reward | Prize | Benefit | Hard Work
My boys had a Grandparent's Day program today and I always go to these things too (there's NO way I would miss these)! Their hard work really paid off! Both sets of their grandparents were able to come to this program and it was a great time! Blake got to do a fun thing with a parachute during one of the songs and then Gavin got to do a contest with Grandma Fish - trying to see who would blow up a balloon the fastest. As far as the prompt goes today - there are many things I need to work on. Lighting, indoor photography (especially after taking photos in the gym today - I'm not happy with any of them - I do blame the lens I was using too, it's not the greatest), sharpness, I mean, truly, the list goes on. It is a frustrating thing for me to realize that I am just not shooting at a level that I want to be at yet even though I have my camera with me all the time! It just proves to me that there is always room for improvement - in every facet of my life. And I won't give up... |

This is the second time I have taken on this challenge. I completed a 365 in 2014 - took 2015 off and decided that this year I wanted to do another challenge. I am part of an amazing group of talented photographers who post an image from an interpretation of a prompt that we receive every day in our e-mail. It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how they translate that into a photograph. I am kicking myself that I didn't do a challenge in 2015 so this is me getting back into doing something I enjoy so very much! Archives
