Day Thirty-One: I love how the detail of the ice contrasts against the old wood. One whole month done - 11 more to go!

Day Twenty-Nine: On
Before I had my human babies, I had this furry one. She has been with me since I was 18 when something tragic happened in my life. She has been by my side every day since. She is going on 13 years old and she still needs to be right by me no matter where I am. She has anxiety when she isn't close enough. She rests her head on my shoulder, lays on my lap, loves me unconditionally - and I her. She is moving a little slower than yesterday and each day is getting worse. I am not sure how many more years she is going to give us. It will be a hard day when that comes. Day Twenty-seven: Curved
This is a horrible, awful, hideous cell phone photo. I hate taking photos with my cell but this is what I had this morning along with the only time I had for the day. I knew right away what I would be using for my curved subject. Doesn't hurt to have three gorgeous children in the photo too. (seriously embarrassed to even share this one) But this is life... Day Twenty-six: Angled Well, I got off of work, drove by a beautiful patch of trees that looked wonderful with their covered branches of freshly fallen snow, drove by said patch of trees for about 3 miles, decided I better turn back because daylight was running out, went back to said patch of trees, parked my truck on the side of the road, walked in the deep snow with my work shoes and work pants on, put the hood to my jacket up and laid down in the freshly fallen snow. All to get the underside of this beautiful patch of trees - that didn't turn out how I would have preferred. So, this is it - still laying down here and the needles to this branch are plenty angled - along with my underside angle shot. (Told my hubby about this adventure and he laughed - my response "I'll do anything to get the shot!") Day Twenty-five - A Favorite. There was no doubt in my mind that I was going to use my babies as my favorite subject today. These three keep my life so full of love and keep me happy. I couldn't imagine a world without them. (Twin boys who are almost 9 and my 5-year-old daughter).
Day Twenty-Four: Space
Sometimes, this is all the space a person needs... An empty room - an empty table - some quiet... I needed this space today. Day Twenty-Three: Dappled/Spotted - I had the most wonderful opportunity to capture the PERFECT dappled sunlight but I was in the truck driving and couldn't get to a safe spot to pull over to capture it. Such is life sometimes. We spent the day playing on the wheelers and I took some photos of the dappled ice on the lake - all of the air bubbles that we could see through the thick ice were really neat but I couldn't capture that in an image that I liked. We finished the day with a family board game and so, the spotted dice on the board was what worked out the best for me. It was a great way to end our fun and busy day.

Danette Badger
This is the second time I have taken on this challenge. I completed a 365 in 2014 - took 2015 off and decided that this year I wanted to do another challenge. I am part of an amazing group of talented photographers who post an image from an interpretation of a prompt that we receive every day in our e-mail. It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how they translate that into a photograph. I am kicking myself that I didn't do a challenge in 2015 so this is me getting back into doing something I enjoy so very much! Archives
