Day Forty:
These are just a small portion of the supplies I have for my scrapbooking obsession - well maybe not obsession - but it is something I enjoy doing very much! I am lucky enough to have a husband who helps me with both my hobbies - scrapbooking and photography. Both are very therapeutic for me and I love spending time creating things creatively.

Day Thirty-Nine:
I love reading. What I love more than reading myself is watching my children read. I did set this scene up a little bit (ok - I set it up completely) but this is a common thing to observe in my household. BOOKS! We have tons of books and they are the one thing that I will never get rid of. (I am keeping them for the generations to come)... I am hoping that my children learn that they can discover so much from books - the fun stuff and the fact stuff. It's I Love to Read month at school too so they have a lot of fun things they are doing with books all month. Day Thirty-Seven: Dual | Contrast | Match | Paired
My boys had basketball practice this morning. What better dual/match/paired group than a bumpy basketball against the smooth, hard floor with those happy kids in the background having so much fun? Day Thirty-Six: Silky Soft | Delicate | Velvety
No real flowers to be found in my neck of the woods today so I used the next best thing - the bouquet from my wedding. I LOVE red roses (well roses in general - I may even have a few tattoos where roses are visible)... I always have. My great-aunt made this bouquet for me and I love that I chose silk flowers for my day because I will always have these - and even pass them to my daughter if she chooses to use them. Day Thirty-Five:
Nine years ago I brought into this world twin boys who turned our pretty laid back life into a pretty hectic one. A hectic life that I wouldn't trade for the world! I loved that today's idea was Rocky - this is just a SMALL amount of their collection of rocks. We are a fan of agates and grandpa even has a rock tumbler which produces some beautiful treasures. They were more than willing to take some time with me before school to get this quick shot. The favorites for the collection are the smooth ones, the "diamond" ones, and ones that look like things (like the little heart on its own there). I've stepped on many a jagged one when they are lost in the carpet and my vacuum has also picked up its fair share as well. I even find these little treasures in my pockets. These things make me smile. Day Thirty-Four: Coarse | Contrast | Bumpy
I haven't really gotten on the bandwagon of photographing food. It's just not something that has ever called to me. I do see the appeal though - the subject doesn't move unless you make it and there are so many different and creative ways to capture it. Last November, I spent the time to make my first batch of freezer crock-pot meals. That one day I made 25 meals. Those stretched through 3 months. I loved how easy it was to grab one out of the freezer, thaw it overnight, put it in the pot and just leave. Made my nights SO easy. That's the plan today - grabbed one of the new bags that I just prepared last Thursday and in the pot it goes. Wednesdays are the days where we are only home together for about an hour (from 5-6PM) between school, basketball, and then Awanas so I never have much time for my POTD. It's nice when the kids are busy eating breakfast and I can take a few minutes to post my images. (this is a chicken teriyaki meal that my family LOVES - it sure doesn't look too appealing this morning)... Day Thirty-Three: Folded | Crimp | Bend
Any day that ends where I can fold up on my yoga mat is a good day. Day Thirty-Two:
I love it when I grab a bottle of my favorite sparkling water and it's partly frozen. When it's perfect like this it has a slushy-ness to it that I love. |

This is the second time I have taken on this challenge. I completed a 365 in 2014 - took 2015 off and decided that this year I wanted to do another challenge. I am part of an amazing group of talented photographers who post an image from an interpretation of a prompt that we receive every day in our e-mail. It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how they translate that into a photograph. I am kicking myself that I didn't do a challenge in 2015 so this is me getting back into doing something I enjoy so very much! Archives
