Day Seventy-One: Where I Stand | Step Back | Look Down | Perspective I realized, today, that with the nicer weather coming my toes will be out more... I decided I needed to paint some new color this morning as seeing my toes in their terrible state (dry skin and chipped paint - I really need a pedicure)! I asked my daughter if she would like me to paint her nails too but she insisted on doing it herself. OKAY!! (How else is she going to learn)? So, here we are painting our nails. I had my tripod set up and was painting my toes with one hand while pushing my remote shutter release with the other. Thank goodness we had the paper under our tooties on the floor because when the nail polish tipped ~ totally by accident ~ it saved the carpet! She was so worried about dumping it but I love this! Such a real thing when a five-year-old is learning to paint her own toes. :)

Day Seventy: What I'm Reading | Books | Magazines | Newspaper
A lucky prompt today because as of Monday this week I started a bible study with Proverbs 31 which is a group that I follow on Facebook. The study is called I Know His Name: Discovering Power in the Names of God. The study is led by the author of the book: Wendy Blight. So far, only four days into it, I am IN LOVE with this study. Not only am I reading through the study paired up with my bible of course, but I am also reading a Christian romance novel on my kindle which is what I do right before bed. It's a very common thing to see a book in my hands... A love that has been a part of me since I was 7 years old or so. I. Am. Always. Reading! Day Sixty-Nine: What I Eat | In Your Hands | Food | Dine
I am lucky to say that I only have to be in the office only two days a week. On the other days I can work remotely which is a huge blessing in our lives as far as being there for the kids and their school stuff, etc… The problem with this situation is that when I am in the office, I have a wonderful gift shop that is just right upstairs. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing – but when you consider the convenience of this for purchasing things for myself, friends, family – for birthdays, mother’s day, father’s day, and any other occasion – yeah – that is problematic. My biggest issue is the yummy snacks that I can get at this gift shop… Reese’s are a weakness of mine. Can’t have enough. And when I am sitting at my desk all day – it’s so easy to just unpeel the wrapper and pop them in my mouth. See the problem?? Day Sixty-Eight: Wearing A Favorite | Loved | Reliable | Comfy
It's feeling more and more like Spring each day! Time to get rid of the big and bulky shoes and boots and pull out the light flats and sandals! This is my kind of season because I absolutely hate wearing shoes - I prefer to be barefoot if I can! :) These are a happy medium for me - I can slip them off easily - they aren't tight - and I love them! I have a variety of flats like this in my closet - plus their very inexpensive so who can complain about that?! Day Sixty-Seven: In The Mirror | Reflection | Typical | View It's not always such an easy thing to deliberately take photos of our own reflections but this is me... I have my good days and my not so good days with what I see in that view but today wasn't so bad so I'm ok with this one. This was much more difficult than I had anticipated as far as getting this photo. It's not near as in focus as I would like - I haven't mastered the focus when using my tri-pod and stepping in front of the camera. Practice - practice - practice. :) Day Sixty-Six: Ordinary | Everyday | Normal | Familiar
It's a normal, everyday occasion for me to be behind my camera. For any occasion - either my CY365 project or family stuff, church stuff, life stuff - I am behind my camera. My family is very familiar with how I look with my camera in hand. I was surprised how smooshed down my nose gets when I am taking photos. Now, I'm going to be all self-conscience about that. Giggle! I love the idea of if my eyes could take photos. Truly - I am a nut - when I don't have my camera I literally make the motion with my hands and yell "click, click, click" on those beautiful opportunities that I miss. (Usually to some pretty strange looks from whoever is with me but then they laugh at me when they see how goofy I am being about it). Those are heartbreaking when I am not prepared with my equipment at an easy reach or the settings are off. Oh - and yes, my dog is ordinarily right by my side no matter where I am and no matter what I am shooting. Day Sixty-Five: In the Morning | Sunrise | Routine | Daylight
Showers in the morning are always a must when it's hard to get moving. It must be that the warm water helps work out the kinks from sleeping and that it also helps me feel refreshed and ready to take on the day. Day Sixty-Four: Celebrate
My son, Gavin, was student of the month for February. They had a little ceremony at school today in honor of all of the munchkins that were chosen by each teacher for this honor. We are so proud of him and this huge accomplishment. His teacher had this to say: "I have a classroom full of respectful and responsible kids as well, so when I was trying to figure out who I was going to select there were a couple of things that stood out. I have one young man who every morning when I say, "good morning" to him - he says, "Good morning!" to me and he also says, "How are you today Mrs. Hall?" So that's pretty cool. And as I was watching as we walked in here to be sat down this student always knows his job and I was watching him and he sat there quietly waiting for Mrs. Bell to get everybody's attention because he knew that that was his job. Gavin Badger." PROUD OF OUR LITTLE MAN!!! (Another note about how proud we are of our munchkins - we realized that two years ago, Blake was the student of the month for February as well when they were in first grade). Here his classmates are cheering him on as he was called to the front to get his certificate and a small reward. Day Sixty-Three: Purpose | Reason | Desire | Intent
A few years ago I wanted to give this hobby of mine a name. I thought of the typical 'Danette Badger Photography' ideas but that just didn't appeal to me. I wasn't intending on going into business necessarily but I was starting to get a lot of outside interest in my photos and people would ask me to share what I had been taking with them. I came up with G.B.&E. Photography (Gavin, Blake, & Evette) because first and foremost, my photography hobby is to capture OUR life. The life of my husband, children, family, friends, and everything that entails - the big things and small things - the highs and lows - the things that matter in our journey as a family. The purpose of my photography will always be FIRST to capture our life events... It's just a bonus to have people hire me to capture their own families for their own memory books. This is why I do what I do - to make my scrapbooks beautiful with photos that I am proud of taking and by giving my children their life in photos and stories. They love looking at these books and I don't ever intend on stopping. There are countless hours in these albums (and countless dollars too - scrapbooking is expensive)!! I have been scrapbooking one album per year since 2003 (not all albums are pictured). The 365 (366) projects that I do are mostly for me - but these albums are for all of us. These are the memories and events that make us who we are. This is our story... Day Sixty-Two: Focused | Attract | Centered | Hone In
The struggle is real my friends... I have three children but for some reason almost every cup in our house is left on the dining room table with a multitude of different drinks in them... Yes, the struggle is real. |

This is the second time I have taken on this challenge. I completed a 365 in 2014 - took 2015 off and decided that this year I wanted to do another challenge. I am part of an amazing group of talented photographers who post an image from an interpretation of a prompt that we receive every day in our e-mail. It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how they translate that into a photograph. I am kicking myself that I didn't do a challenge in 2015 so this is me getting back into doing something I enjoy so very much! Archives
