New Year's Eve ~ 366:2020
Garnett's words brought tears to my eyes today when reading her loving words for our very last 2020 365 Picture Today prompt. I can't believe this year is over. It's been great! It's been tough! It's been happy! It's been sad! To say that this community is a blessing is an understatement. I have grown to think of each of you like family - there are things we can share with each other that no one really understands and for that I am so grateful! And to YOU, our 365 TEAM - CHEERS! You led us through an unbelievably challenging year and I can't thank you enough for keeping our community alive and well! I'll see you all NEXT YEAR!! Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us.

Falling Needles Family Fest Day ~ 365:2020
I am so glad our team leaders explain these days to us! Using the National Day Calendar for this year’s prompts has sure taught me a lot! Garnett explained that today is about cleaning up and recycling live Christmas trees. “Let's use today to capture some evergreen. You can take photos of your wreath or Christmas Tree. Or, you can take a walk in the woods.” There’s a “day” for everything! Giggle! Our (artificial) Christmas tree came down yesterday but I will leave my wreath outside throughout the snowy months. It hangs outside our front door but I moved it to our evergreens for this photo. About 4 inches fell last night and the world is beautiful this morning! Ezekiel 17:24 Then all the trees of the field will know that I am Yahweh. I bring down the tall tree, and make the low tree tall. I cause the green tree to wither and make the withered tree thrive. I, Yahweh, have spoken and I will do it. Tick Tock Day ~ PHONE PHOTO ~ 364:2020
No time for ticking clocks today but this is so much better! My living room became quite chaotic after I was done working as my three decided to set up barriers for a nerf gun war! I didn't play too much but I wound up in the game inadvertently because Eve said, "if we hit mom we get extra points!" This was while I was mopping the kitchen floor behind them. Giggle! I was only hit a couple of times. Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves all times, and a brother is born for a difficult time. Card Playing Day ~ 363:2020
One of our favorite card games is Hand and Foot. This stack of cards are specifically for that game - we have 6 decks which is perfect for 4 people. I first learned this game back in March of 2003 when my late fiancé and I drove to Oregon to spend a week with some friends. When we got home, we taught it to anyone who would play with us. Then in August 2003, my fiancé passed away and that November, my grandparents flew me down to Arizona to spend 6 weeks with them. Grandma and Grandpa already knew this game and we played many, many times! Is it weird that a card game can be sentimental? Philippians 3:14 I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God's heavenly call in Christ Jesus. Fruitcake Day ~ 362:2020
Our neighbors are the best!! We got an ice cream pail full of chocolate chip cookies from one neighbor and then we got a platter of snickerdoodle cookies (pictured) and a loaf of snickerdoodle bread from another neighbor! As far as fruitcake goes, I’ve never had it! Matthew 7:17 In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit. Boxing Day ~ 361:2020
I was spoiled this Christmas! I hope you all were too! Here is a cute little box that my in-laws gave me a gift card in. I don't mind these gifts one bit because it means that I can go get something for myself that I normally wouldn't spend money on. This gift card is being spent tomorrow when we go shopping and I'm buying new kitchen pans! 2 Kings 4:3 Then he said, "Go and borrow empty containers from everyone - from all your neighbors. Do not get just a few... Christmas Day ~ 360:2020
We had a wind Christmas morning just the five of us... now as we wait for my family to join us for celebration ~ Husky can FINALLY lay beneath the tree with a large amount of presents already opened and delivered. He really is quite thrilled about this. We are lucky that he doesn’t cause problems for us with our tree. Matthew 1:21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to name Him Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins. Christmas Eve ~ 359:2020
My most treasured Christmas tradition is watching White Christmas with my hubby. Mike’s parents did this same thing together when he was growing up. It’s a great movie and I especially love how Mike wants to continue with this tradition in our own marriage. Tonight, we did just that after spending all day at Mike’s parents to celebrate Christmas with his parents and brother. 1 Corinthians 11:2 Now I praise you because you always remember me and keep the traditions just as I delivered them to you. Roots Day ~ COLOR - GOLD ~ 358:2020
The root of this season is Jesus! Eve caught a glimpse of this ornament hanging perfectly in front of the gold light on the tree tonight which made for a perfect photo to capture today. Romans 11:16 Now if the firstfruits offered up are holy, so is the whole batch. And if the root is holy, so are the branches. Date Nut Bread Day ~ 367:2020
No nut bread today ~ so how about some dark chocolate cherry bars?!? Yum!! Exodus 29:23 take one loaf of bread, one cake of bread made with oil, and one wafer from the basket of unleavened bread that is before the Lord;... |
Danette BadgerThis is the 6th year I have taken on this photography challenge! In 2015 I didn't follow a 365 project, unfortunately. So, from 1/1/14 to 12/31/19 I have taken 2,117 daily photos (beside my own personal photos) and plan to add another 366 for this year! Starting 1/1/20 I am no longer doing the project with Capture Your 365 as that group has ended as of 12/31/19 (after 8 years and 9 months of everyday photography). There were four lovely ladies who decided to keep this community alive for us all and created 365 Picture Today and they have decided to use the National Day Calendar for our prompts this year which should be so much fun! It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how it's translated into a photograph. I enjoy this challenge very much and I am looking forward to seeing what 2020 brings! Archives
