Social Media Day ~ 182:2020
I didn’t have to rely on social media to see some special friends today and it was awesome! Anthony, Cindy, and Sawyer are home from Florida to celebrate Sawyer’s THIRD birthday which happens to be today! So, after getting done with my work day early ~ me and my munchkins drove the 1.5 hour trip to the cabin where they are staying and we spent the afternoon with them. The only thing that would have made this day perfect was if my hubby could have gotten done with work early to join us. 1 John 3:18 Little children, we must not love with word or speech, but with truth and action.

Camera Day ~ PHONE ~ 181:2020
I have shared my vintage camera collection a few times but never shared my digital collection before. I started with a Nikon D3000 in 2009 and wound up getting an upgrade when my D3000 was dropped by little hands and my protection plan sent me a D3100 in March 2012. At the end of 2013, I got a D7000 as a gift from my parents. Then in 2017 I splurged and bought my big guy ~ the D750. Got a few lens upgrades in between too. I am proud to say that I know these cameras inside and out! When I first did a 365 back in 2014, I decided I was done taking photos in auto so I turned my camera to manual and never looked back. Now, I let my kids take the smaller two cameras and use them when they want ~ hopefully passing on my love of photography to them. Psalms 37:4 Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart’s desires. Paul Bunyan Day ~ 180:2020
Growing up we were just a short 30 minute drive to Baxter MN where Paul Bunyan Land was. So I am very familiar with Paul and Babe the Blue Ox. When we entered the park, Paul would greet us by name and we thought that was the coolest thing ever! We were heart broken to watch that park close because it was so fun to drive up to it each time we came to town. Luckily enough a local family bought Paul and his Blue Ox and the whole amusement park and kept them close by in Brainerd. We didn’t make it all the way to the new destination but I knew Paul’s feet were memorialized at his original place (which unfortunately is now an ugly parking lot for a Kohl’s store)... 😔 1 Chronicles 20:4 After this, a war broke out with the Philistines at Gezer. At that time Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Sippai, a descendant of the giants, and the Philistines were subdued. Sunglasses Day ~ 179:2020
Our dear friend Jason (Bigs) turned the big 4-0 back in April but we weren't able to celebrate until today. His little sister put on a great party for him and as he was getting the bonfire started, I realized that I needed to capture my photo today so there it is ~ my sunglasses resting on my knee and Bigs in the background! Isaiah 4:6 and there will be a booth for shade from heat by day, and a refuge and shelter from strom and rain. (Off Prompt) A Picture Perfect Day ~ 178:2020
I really have no words to describe the contentment I feel after today. My hubby joined us at the beach ~ just the five of us. I was so relaxed. It was an incredible day and I am so glad we had this time together! Colossians 3:14 Above all, put on love — the perfect bond of unity. Take Your Dog to Work Day ~ 177:2020
Nothing changed for me as far as work goes other than gaining the extra work from my two coworkers that were on furlough. This is a typical view for me with my sweet girl. She is close enough for me to reach down and pet her every now and then and I love her company so much! James 2:22 You see that faith was active together with his works, and by works, faith was perfected. World UFO Day ~ 176:2020
I’m not sure what UFO means to me... maybe it works to say that these 5 munchkins were dropped on this planet via some extraterrestrial something out there because let me tell you ~ sometimes I look at them and think only aliens could have reproduced these crazy five! (Just kidding! We had so much fun today ~ I got off work early and we went and played at the beach for 3 hours this afternoon)! I love when I can spend time with my nieces and nephews during the summer months. Ephesians 2:19 So then you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with the saints, and members of God’s household,... Caught in a Downpour (off prompt) ~ 175:2020
My babies joined Luna and I on a walk down to the creek after I logged off for the day. Right when we got there, it started to rain. No big deal ~ we could just wait it out under the bridge and skip rocks ~ or so we thought until out of the blue there was a loud CRACK as the sky lit up with thunder and lightening. Just one boom and Luna took off! Ahhhh! Gavin ran right after her but I was worried she was so scared that she would get lost so we all left the safe, dry haven under the bridge to follow the scaredy-cat. Luna did finally listen to Gavin calling her and we strolled home singing and dancing and being goofy in the rain. This was so much fun! Zechariah 10:1 Ask the Lord for rain in the season of spring rain. The Lord makes the rain clouds, and He will give them showers of rain and crops in the field for everyone. HVAC Tech Day ~ 174:2020
How cool that there is such a thing as HVAC Tech Day!! I happen to be married to an HVAC Tech. In February 2005, he was hired as an apprentice and has since worked for a total of 4 different heating and air companies within these last 15 years and truly loves what he does. I have worked with him a few times and let me tell you, the work is difficult! It’s a very typical thing for him to be freezing or roasting hot while he makes homes comfortable and it’s pretty cool that there is a day to recognize the importance of this profession. Isaiah 25:5 like heat in a dry land, You subdue the uproar of barbarians. As the shade of a cloud cools the heat of the day, so He silences the song of the violent. Father's Day ~ 173:2020
We celebrated Father’s Day by inviting our family over for lunch and an afternoon fire. My parents were the only ones able to make it. So, I am only able to showcase a couple of the special dads in my world ~ my dad who gave me life and my husband who gave my three children life. (I asked my mom to take this for us and I think I was in mid-sentence when she captured this one. Also, those 4 goons in the background were wrestling around which is just a very true capture of that relationship. Totally makes me smile)! 2 Corinthians 6:18 I will be a Father to you, and you will be sons and daughters to Me, says the Lord Almighty. |
Danette BadgerThis is the 6th year I have taken on this photography challenge! In 2015 I didn't follow a 365 project, unfortunately. So, from 1/1/14 to 12/31/19 I have taken 2,117 daily photos (beside my own personal photos) and plan to add another 366 for this year! Starting 1/1/20 I am no longer doing the project with Capture Your 365 as that group has ended as of 12/31/19 (after 8 years and 9 months of everyday photography). There were four lovely ladies who decided to keep this community alive for us all and created 365 Picture Today and they have decided to use the National Day Calendar for our prompts this year which should be so much fun! It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how it's translated into a photograph. I enjoy this challenge very much and I am looking forward to seeing what 2020 brings! Archives
