Smile Day ~ 152:2020
This... this makes me smile ~ not necessarily the little chocolate smile on the graham cracker but just sitting outside in the sun with my babies in the background, my hubby beside me, and a fire to make s’mores. This makes me smile. Job 9:27 If I said, “I will forget my complaint, change my expression, and smile,...

Creativity Day ~ 151:2020
I was hired by a young woman to capture her wedding today. She has been in my life for 15+ years! She used to babysit for me and she was actually the very first "official" photo shoot I was hired for in this photography journey because I took her grad photos in 2013. Today was quite a challenge with all the stuff going on and we definitely had opportunities for creativity. Someone had the idea to grab a roll of toilet paper to help document a bit of what is happening currently in the world on the biggest day of their life. We also took some photos of the bride and groom in masks to document as a sign of the times as well. They will have a big story to tell their grand babies some day! Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works, not staying away from our worship meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near. Paperclip Day ~ Phone ~ 150:2020
I forgot I had these cute little things... then I remembered, took them out, snapped a photo with my phone, and done! I like when photos for prompts work out sweet and simple like this! 2 John 1:12 Though I have many things to write to you, I don’t want to do so with paper and ink. Instead, I hope to be with you and talk face to face so that our joy may be complete. Off Prompt ~ Forts Turned Slumber Party ~ 149:2020
My boys built a pretty cool fort yesterday. Then Eve joined in and built her own. Then they slept in them last night. Tonight, they all wanted to sleep here again but the boys decided that sleeping under the tent made of blankets was too hot so they are just sleeping in the living room. They are loving this! :) Psalms 91:2 I will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Senior Health and Fitness Day ~ 148:2020
Well my kids would consider me “senior” but I do think I have quite a few years before that term applies. BUT, any sort of fitness that has destinations like this are well worth it. My favorite forms of fitness are yoga, walking, and biking. Now that I think of it, I usually do a combination of two of those activities a day. 1 Corinthians 3:16 Don’t you yourselves know that you are God’s sanctuary and that the Spirit of God lives in you? Paper Airplane Day ~ 147:2020
My morning walks are so enjoyable because one, two, or three of my babies like to join Luna and I. Today, the only thing flying in my world was Eve on her roller-blades zooming with her magic cape. She doesn't know I captured this... she was so focused on the "pretty" shadow she was creating ~ which looked like she was flying. Revelation 14:6 Then I saw another angel flying high overhead, having the eternal gospel to announce to the inhabitants of the earth - to every nation, tribe, language, and people. Memorial Day ~ 146:2020
I am proud to be American. And it is because of the sacrifice of all those who have served, are serving, and will serve in the future that we are free. I can't get this song out of my head today... John 15:13 No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends. Scavenger Hunt Day ~ 145:2020 1 ~ Sunshine - because looking up through the trees while soaking up the sun was a lovely way to spend an afternoon. 2 ~ Fibonacci - a pine cone - because we spent a full 8 hours cleaning up the horrible mess they made in our yard along with the needles that fall too. 3 ~ Sign - because these are words we can all take to heart - especially during the frustrations life can throw at us. 4 ~ Begins with 'C' - because our cat Husky is a lovable part of our family. 5 ~ Heart Shaped - found by Eve on an evening walk and said "look mom, it's a heart!" 6 ~ Something Metal - because my brother and sister-in-law gave me this pretty sign made of metal for Christmas last year and because I had to use the pretty blue background from a recently painted downstairs wall I completed during the last 8 weeks. 7 ~ Color Yellow - because there are dandelions EVERYWHERE right now! 8 ~ With Hands - because I feel like I never put this down. My phone dies at least once a day now and that is really strange for me as I hardly ever use this outside of photography stuff. It's the only way to stay connected with so many. Such a sad situation but a blessing because we do have this available to us to help keep us connected. 9 ~ Rough Texture - because I had to showcase another one of our quarantine projects - or at least a part of it - because I love how beautiful my bathroom is now and we spent a lot of time making it the way we wanted it. The shelf is actually something my hubby made for me two years ago (May 20, 2018 and was my POTD on that date as well). The background is part of the "new" renovation that we completed. I think these rough textures go very nicely together. Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. The group admins gave us 4 more ideas for a challenge round:
Scavenger Hunt Challenge Round ~ 145:2020 1 ~ Bokeh ~ because I had to go back to that tree (that Eve asked me to pull down for her to smell) for just one more photo (or 20) and I love how the flowers in the background create the bokeh in this one. 2 ~ Pattern ~ because the design on our bathroom walls weren't supposed to be a pattern but it kind of turned out that way because there were only so many colors to choose from... (I promise I won't share anymore bathroom photos - giggle)! 3 ~ Golden Hour ~ because this view while I work every morning takes my breath away. 4 ~ Reflection ~ because today is also Brother's Day and since I can't see my big brother, I used my boys. They were so confused when I tried to explain to them what I wanted to try but they saw it and they both loved how this turned out. I may have to print it for them. Taffy Day ~ Color ~ Rainbow ~ 144:2020
Just one color of the rainbow is featured here but my little beauty asked me to pull down the branches so she could smell the pretty flowers from this tree on our walk this morning and the way she breathed them in just melts my heart. If there is one thing I have learned very vividly as a mother, it's that children really can embrace the idea of what "stopping to smell the flowers" means. 2 Chronicles 4:21 the flowers, lamps, and gold tongs - of purest gold; Solitaire Day ~ 143:2020
Ha! I could not believe this! My daughter's Kindle account is tied to my email and I get notices of things she downloads. Look what she added today! What a coincidence!! This was the only time I saw cards today because I was outside cleaning up the yard all day ~ 8 FULL hours of work and there isn't one pine cone or pine needle left! (Until tomorrow morning of course because that's all pine trees do... make a mess)! Giggle! (Screen shot of the email I got tonight... it's the only picture I was able to "take" today). Romans 8:25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with patience. |
Danette BadgerThis is the 6th year I have taken on this photography challenge! In 2015 I didn't follow a 365 project, unfortunately. So, from 1/1/14 to 12/31/19 I have taken 2,117 daily photos (beside my own personal photos) and plan to add another 366 for this year! Starting 1/1/20 I am no longer doing the project with Capture Your 365 as that group has ended as of 12/31/19 (after 8 years and 9 months of everyday photography). There were four lovely ladies who decided to keep this community alive for us all and created 365 Picture Today and they have decided to use the National Day Calendar for our prompts this year which should be so much fun! It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how it's translated into a photograph. I enjoy this challenge very much and I am looking forward to seeing what 2020 brings! Archives
