Honesty Day ~ 121:2020
The challenge today was to share our photo without editing ~ something I NEVER do. There is always something I touch up, usually a crop or a bit of noise reduction. Today was easy though because grandpa stopped over and Evette asked to be taken on her first motorcycle ride and she loved it! It made for an easy POTD for me! 2 Corinthians 8:21 For we are making provision for what is right, not only before the Lord but also before men.

Zipper Day ~ PHONE ~ 120:2020
Pulled out my old motorcycle leather jacket for this zipper. Oh how I miss riding! James 1:4 But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing. Great Poetry Reading Day ~ 119:2020
I offered to read “The Outsiders” to my boys for their english assignment. Before they started the book, they were asked to review this poem by Robert Frost: Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay. The poem is used in the book and we came across it today. The context in which it’s used in this story is pretty heavy. “Nothing gold can stay...” Numbers 24:23 Once more he proclaimed his poem: Ah, who can live when God does this? Tell A Story Day ~ 118:2020
Here’s a story of two young men given an assignment to build their own log cabins. Made me think of cabin fever... something we all feel at different levels I am sure... Blake’s cabin became more of a house (on the left) and Gavin’s looks like a barn or shed (on the right). They didn’t plan that necessarily but they sure look great together! 1 Kings 6:10 He built the chambers along the entire temple, joined to the temple with cedar beams; each story was 7 1/2 feet high. Pretzel Day ~ 117:2020
What a lucky prompt today! Evette had one packet left to use for her Easy Bake Oven and guess what?!?! They were pretzels! She asked me to do the fun twisty kind but when she made a second batch, she decided to just make some pretzel bites. We all enjoy her sweet treats. She works so hard on them and she does a great job! Leviticus 2:7 If your gift is a grain offering prepared in a pan, it must be made of fine flour with oil. Off Prompt ~ NEW BATHROOM ~ 116:2020
I had to share this because our bathroom is (98%) done! I am so happy with how it turned out! We both worked so hard on this and some plans changed a few times but we were both on the same page and talked through different ideas and just knowing that we work so well together makes this project even more special to me. There are just a few finishing touches that we will add but right now, I am loving how simple it all is. We just want to add a hamper for dirty cloths, a holder for hand towels, a toilet paper holder, and the ceiling which will take less than a day and we are complete. Oh, I also have to re-hang my shelf above the toilet too but that's easy. :) John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without Me." Arbor Day ~ 115:2020
We went on an extra long walk this morning which was especially nice because daddy could join us. The beavers have been busy down by the river ~ saw 7 downed trees total. Trees are very important to us all ~ human and animal alike! Isaiah 41:19-20 I will plan cedars in the desert, acacias, myrtles, and olive trees. I will put juniper trees in the desert, elms and cypress trees together, so that all may see and know, consider and understand, that the hand of the Lord has done this, the Holy One of Israel has created it. Lost Dog Awareness Day ~ 114:2020
I have been lucky in my life that I have never had the heartbreak of my dog getting lost. Currently, the only way Luna would get lost is if she is in a pile of snow and we are well past that threat ~ thank goodness! We do have a pretty little name tag for her with her name and my phone number on the off chance that she would ever stray too far from my side (like in this photo with her sitting with me squinting into the lovely sunshine). Then I would just pray that the collar wouldn't fall off on her adventures and that the person who finds her would actually call me. Matthew 18:11 For the Son of Man has come to save the lost. Mother Earth Day ~ 113:2020
I have changed my normal walks to early morning instead of mid-morning because my babies ask me to take these walks before they start school. Some mornings, it's a one-on-one walk, but today, both boys were up early enough to come with me. Blake has been especially insistent on getting a walk in with me before he starts school and he loves it the most if it's just us. It fills me to the brim when I can have that one on one time with him (or any of them) because they talk so candidly with me and they open up about anything with me. They are such priceless moments for me and such a necessity right now because of how difficult things are at work and how hard it is with a difficult work-life on top of homeschooling. I am doing my best and when my babies need this time with me as much as I do with them, it makes me feel so good. So, today, I am grateful for Mother Earth and the opportunities she gives for these moments with my babies. To enjoy the beauty of these mornings (and yes, we did collect lots of litter which breaks all of our hearts). Jeremiah 22:29 Earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the Lord! British National Tea Day ~ 112:2020
The tea cups haven’t been brought down since they made their way back on the shelf after painting Eve’s room. These cups have had many parties in the past and I know that they will see many more parties in the future! Zechariah 7:6 When you eat and drink, don’t you eat and drink simply for yourselves? |
Danette BadgerThis is the 6th year I have taken on this photography challenge! In 2015 I didn't follow a 365 project, unfortunately. So, from 1/1/14 to 12/31/19 I have taken 2,117 daily photos (beside my own personal photos) and plan to add another 366 for this year! Starting 1/1/20 I am no longer doing the project with Capture Your 365 as that group has ended as of 12/31/19 (after 8 years and 9 months of everyday photography). There were four lovely ladies who decided to keep this community alive for us all and created 365 Picture Today and they have decided to use the National Day Calendar for our prompts this year which should be so much fun! It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how it's translated into a photograph. I enjoy this challenge very much and I am looking forward to seeing what 2020 brings! Archives
