Women's Health & Fitness Day ~ 274:2020
Getting out and about for health is easy when you have special company. My sweet girl is 10 today and we had our annual photo shoot after school. We were only outside for an hour and had photos in the sun, cloud cover, and rain! We even had to hideout under the bridge by the creek to stay dry for a bit. We got dirty toes with all the walking we did but the time together was priceless! She loves doing these photo shoots too. 1 Samuel 25:6 Say to him: ‘Long life to you! Good health to you and your household! And good health to all that is yours!

International Coffee Day ~ Phone ~ 273:2020
I was touched by a bit of insanity today which I think coffee maybe would have helped ~ if I was a coffee drinker. But, I'm not, and yet I made it through today in one piece. It started out with a text to my boss this morning letting her know I was going to take a vacation day. Her response: "enjoy the day!" Well ~ this vacation turned into 6.5 hours of sweeping my lawn ~ with a lawn sweeper, of course. It was such a mess of pine needles and leaves that I could only do one pass before the sweeper was full and I had to empty. I estimate that I emptied around 30 loads! THEN, I showered because I was full of dust and my hair even had pine needles in it! The kids came home and I decided it would be good to pressure wash our picnic table AND touch up some paint on the outside door ~ which meant I should also touch up window trim, the garage trim, and the trim around the roof too. THEN, inside the house after dropping the kids off with their dad for TKD, I deep cleaned my kitchen and as I started on the living room, my vacuum broke ~ so then I sat down. Finally! So, no coffee... instead I poured something else that may help take away some of my aches and pains from all this work I did on my vacation day. 1 Corinthians 9:4 Don't we have the right to food and drink? Family Day ~ 272:2020
Photo credit goes to my big brother who took this for us on Friday (so I'm cheating a bit ~ which I NEVER do)! Giggle! We had to take advantage of these beautiful autumn colors!! 1 Chronicles 16:28 Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. World Tourism Day ~ 271:2020
We celebrated my daughter's (upcoming) birthday today. She turns 10 on the 30th. She decided on a virtual reality party like she did last year and the kids always have so much fun! The prompt had us do a bit of a scavenger hunt today: Something tall ~ Gavin towers over me now. Statue or landmark ~ virtual reality brings them anywhere. Something on the ground ~ present debris. Color blue ~ blue balloon on the cake. Where you are ~ celebrating our baby girl. A sign ~ it's all about Evette! Fits in your hand ~ cleaning up present debris. With numbers ~ how is it possible that all three of my kids are double digits!? Triangle shaped ~ big brothers taking a break ~ I see a triangle with the two of them and the cup as well as the triangle chip Gavin is eating. (Some of these weren't taken by me, of course. My family knows they can pick up my camera and take photos at events like this. In fact, I insist that they do)! Ecclesiastes 1:13 I applied my mind to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under the heavens. What a heavy burden God has laid on mankind! Save your Photos Day ~ 270:2020
I have what I call “photography compulsion” moments... it’s an irresistible or irrational impulse where I see something (especially while in a car) and I HAVE to take a photo. This has resulted in obtaining a large amount of landscape photos in my archives that I have done nothing with. Until now! Last Saturday, I shared a glimpse of this project and today my hubby got it on the wall for me and now I can easily change out my “compulsive” photos that I love. My hubby calls those moments I have in the car “obsessive compulsive photography disorder” or OCPD. Still, if he is driving and we aren’t in a hurry, he often stops and goes back to allow me some moments to capture whatever caught my eye. When I don’t have my camera, I hold my hands to my face as if I do and say out loud “click, click, click” as we pass something I wish I had my camera for ~ and that always gets some great giggles out of the munchkins too. 😁 Psalms 64:4 They shoot from ambush at the innocent; they shoot suddenly, without fear. Proverbs 26:18 Like a maniac shooting flaming arrows of death... World Dream Day ~ 269:2020
What a beautiful day ~ the changing autumn leaves are spectacular right now and my brother came over to take photos of my family. It was such a blessing to be a “client” rather than a “photographer” for a change! I captured this on the way home and to answer the question from today’s prompt ~ my dreams are made of hoping that the world receives a sunset as stunning as this ~ and that tomorrow is filled with as many stunning views and happy memories that my little family experienced today. Genesis 41:11 Each of us had a dream the same night, and each dream had a meaning of its own. Punctuation Day ~ 268:2020
'Nuff said! Ecclesiastes 1:4 Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever. Teal Talk Day ~ COLOUR - TEAL ~ 267:2020
I learned a lot today while doing my own research on what teal talk day is all about. I love the idea of “in the absence of a test, awareness is best.” It’s important to know about things like this for sure! Romans 12:3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. World Car Free Day ~ 266:2020
My kids begged not to ride the bus this year. Not that they had to beg! it's only a half mile from home to school and I love walking with them in the morning and then picking them up in the afternoon. It's a nice time to get ready for the day and then catch up after our busy days too. Proverbs 10:9 Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out. Chai Day ~ MACRO MONDAY ~ 265:2020
Chai tea has clove in it... this is all I have as far as that goes. My very dear friend has an autoimmune disorder and she has taken it upon herself to help care for my hubby with his autoimmune disorder. They share a lot of the same symptoms and she tried this essential oil and found relief in some areas. She sent me this bottle, we FaceTimed for a couple of hours visiting, and she taught me how she has been using it so I can help him as well. He is experiencing relief and as it’s the only thing we have done differently for him, I give it, but mostly my friend, all the credit! Exodus 30:25 Make these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer. It will be the sacred anointing oil. |
Danette BadgerThis is the 6th year I have taken on this photography challenge! In 2015 I didn't follow a 365 project, unfortunately. So, from 1/1/14 to 12/31/19 I have taken 2,117 daily photos (beside my own personal photos) and plan to add another 366 for this year! Starting 1/1/20 I am no longer doing the project with Capture Your 365 as that group has ended as of 12/31/19 (after 8 years and 9 months of everyday photography). There were four lovely ladies who decided to keep this community alive for us all and created 365 Picture Today and they have decided to use the National Day Calendar for our prompts this year which should be so much fun! It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how it's translated into a photograph. I enjoy this challenge very much and I am looking forward to seeing what 2020 brings! Archives
