Day Two Hundred Two: Beautiful Evening | Sunset | Another Day Done
I went off prompt because I just couldn't find the time to capture anything else - or so it seemed... So, after getting my munchkins and their friends from VBS we were blessed with this stunning sunset and just like that - here's my photo for the day. Day Two Hundred One: Filter | Penetrate | Refine | Clarify
Today's prompt had us using filters - actual filters that you can put right on your lens. I did take this photo with a UV filter. My filter's purpose is to remove or absorb ultra violet rays, giving sharper contrast to a image. It helps to tone down direct sunlight. My subject for today's photo is something I am so excited about! My very best friend got these cameras for me at an auction that she worked at with her dad. She sent me a quick photo of a box as a tease, I guess, so I was extremely surprised and excited to find that there were three boxes of these antique cameras! I can't even image how these cameras worked in their time. I am a product of a generation that just has to push a button and I know that if I take a bad photo I can just recompose and push it again - I have a memory card that can hold 1000 photos so it's not such a concern if I make a mistake. These cameras actually ran out of film - so you had to be sure you had everything just right before pushing that shutter! And then to develop those photos! It must have been SO much fun! Talk about having to know how your equipment worked. I am going to spend some time researching these and learning about them. It's so interesting to see the differences in cameras from way back - the refinement of newer cameras have come a long way!
Day One Hundred Ninety Eight: Quenching | Drink | Douse | Flavors
I was thrilled when my cousin contacted me to photograph her wedding. It was such an amazing day and I was so happy to be there as a guest and also capture her special day! All the details that she poured into this day were amazing. It's so obvious how much this couple loves and cares for each other by each and every piece that they put into such an important day to start their lives together! Before they arrived at their reception venue I was snapping details and the head table was decorated with just awesome DIY items. These glasses caught my eye and I knew that they would be my photo for today. Day One Hundred Ninety Seven: Orange | Hue | Variegated | Sunset
We were able to have a fun wheeler ride with my very good friend and her son tonight. On our way home we were blessed with this gorgeous sunset ~ one which I had to stop MANY times to capture with my little point and shoot camera. (The only camera I have that I would trust to bring on my wheeler. It's a waterproof, shockproof, dust proof camera ~ perfect for occasions such as these). Day One Hundred Ninety Six: Full Of Color | Art | Paint | Rainbow
This art pad is specifically just for Eve. She got it for her birthday last September. It is filling up page by page of her beautiful creations. Some are paintings, some are chalk drawings, some are pencil, pens, or crayons. Today she was inspired to just use this one color because she said it's my favorite color. I was thrilled and I enjoyed watching her create this newest masterpiece. Most days she creates pictures without my knowledge and other days I witness the creativity flow and I make sure to date the pages she works on. She insists on keeping all pages intact in the book and I love going through them! It melts my heart to see the happy drawings coming from the imagination of her little hands. Day One Hundred Ninety Five: In A Bowl | Dish | Food | Basin
It's mid-summer and a favorite snack of our has been watermelon! I used to cut a watermelon into bite size pieces but with the crunch of time in this mommy's world as of late, I have resorted to quick cuts like this. I find that this prevents sticky, dirty fingers from reaching into the shared fruit bowl and, like I said, it's a very fast way to prepare a nice cool snack. Day One Hundred Ninety Four: Lonely Landscape | Scenery | Nature | Spread Out
I knew I would have a perfect opportunity to find THE spot this morning on my way to work for today's prompt. I wasn't sure where exactly I would be tempted to stop but the route I take is full of many beautiful landscapes. I was pleasantly surprised to find a mommy and daddy swan with their three babies enjoying this pond this morning. (Do you see them near the back of the pond next to the grass)? I am happiest when I am outdoors! God's creation is such a blessing if you can slow down and take the time to truly experience it. |

This is the second time I have taken on this challenge. I completed a 365 in 2014 - took 2015 off and decided that this year I wanted to do another challenge. I am part of an amazing group of talented photographers who post an image from an interpretation of a prompt that we receive every day in our e-mail. It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how they translate that into a photograph. I am kicking myself that I didn't do a challenge in 2015 so this is me getting back into doing something I enjoy so very much! Archives
