Day One Hundred Seventy One: Silhouette | Shadow | Shape | Figures
We went on a fantastic camping trip with my brothers family and my mom and dad this weekend. I was blessed to capture this sunset last night with the intention of using it for my photo today because we are leaving to go home this afternoon. This was shot over the Mississippi River. Day One Hundred Sixty Nine: (Off Prompt) Campfire Donuts | Weekend Away | No Responsibilities | Staying Up As Late As We Want
Day one of our camping trip and daddy made us a special after dinner treat of campfire donuts. I haven't had these before now and they are delicious! We are going to make this a regular camping treat for sure! Day One Hundred Sixty Eight: Classic | Vintage | Retro | Stylish
Today's prompt asked us to remember - to specifically remember fun games we played as a kid. I do remember playing this game with my brother. But I also remember playing it with my grandma when I spent the night at their house when they owned a resort. It's a very fun memory. This board isn't the one we played on - we were given particular game from my husband's parents who were cleaning out some of their stuff and it's definitely a classic and vintage set for sure.
Day One Hundred Sixty Six: Vivid | Bright | Dramatic | Colorful
I was worried about what my subject would be today until I went to my cousin's house where I was going to take photos of her three munchkins with their grandma today. She and her hubby have been working so very hard on the landscaping around their home and have some of the most beautiful flowers planted right now. This one caught my eye because of my love for roses. Day One Hundred Sixty Five: Colors in Nature | Bold | Scenery
I was lucky enough to take a small evening walk after my daughter's t-ball practice to find something pretty and bold for today's prompt. This little purple weed (I think it's a weed) resides happily along the side of our road. Day One Hundred Sixty Four: RGB | Red | Green | Blue
Each year our church, Oak Street Chapel, has a motorcycle run as a fund raiser. I have photographed this event for the last three years. This was one of our best yet because of the weather. The day was windy but the rain held off until after the run was over. I was thrilled to see the variety of bikes that came and it makes me miss mine so very much! (I owned my very own bike quite some time ago. I decided to sell it once I became a mom)... This was taken after the bikers came back for the meal that was provided and I was so excited to see these three line up like they did. Red, Green, Blue, with a black one in between really made this a nice shot. I didn't even have to ask them to do this. Bikers are some of the nicest people out there and we all enjoy this even so very much! Day One Hundred Sixty Three: Play | Fun | With Childlike Spirit | Free
We made a very impromptu stop this morning at the park by the beach... The beach won the attention of my babies over the playground and we started out with just our pant legs rolled up, however, the temptation of just getting all cooled off won over trying to stay somewhat dry. Who cares that we didn't have our suits with us? It was a lucky coincidence that we had backpacks full of extra clothes from the stay at grandpa and grandma's house last night so we were able to change before the ride home. It was a perfect thing to do on this hot day. Not only did we enjoy the cool water, we got to see a loon pop out of nowhere from underneath the water about 10 feet from us and also a mommy duck with her 12 ducklings following her close. It was a fun day! |

This is the second time I have taken on this challenge. I completed a 365 in 2014 - took 2015 off and decided that this year I wanted to do another challenge. I am part of an amazing group of talented photographers who post an image from an interpretation of a prompt that we receive every day in our e-mail. It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how they translate that into a photograph. I am kicking myself that I didn't do a challenge in 2015 so this is me getting back into doing something I enjoy so very much! Archives
