21/365 ~ Light | Brilliance | Brightness | Luminosity
It's been a day... it's been a weekend actually. I have needed to remind myself on more than one occasion to look up! To look for the light that can help me through this messy life. It has been one of those weekends.

20/365 ~ My Family | All of Us | Together | Group
Usually when we are with this family we get a large group shot with all of us but today we were not able to do so. My hubby is helping them with their HVAC system in the house they are building so while the guys worked, my dear friend and I brought our kids to an ice rink for the day. This ice rink is offered by a wonderful man who lost his son in an accident. His son loved hockey so this is a way for his dad to heal ~ by watching the joy it brings to other kids and families. It was a beautiful spot and he makes a wonderfully large rink and sledding hills to enjoy. 19/365 ~ Where I Stand | From Behind | Boots | Red
I was planning on taking my Where I Stand photo on my walk with Luna but after seeing this one - I just have to use it! Each day her bed moves from our bedroom to my office to the living room and back to my bedroom. I couldn't resist using this one because it surprised me that her eyes were open. When I looked down at her while I was working, I thought how cute it would be to capture this view of her sleeping by my feet. My ankle is about 3 inches away from the edge of her bed. She is lying almost entirely out of her bed - the only part in the bed is her feet... 18/365 ~ Embellishment | Decoration | Accessory | Garnish
Strength and dignity are her clothing... My mind went crazy this morning after reading the prompt. I kept coming back to clothing or jewelry that I wear. I even thought of my tattoos. All those things are embellishments, decorations, and accessories that I love ~ even if it is a comfy shirt that I stole from my hubby for the day.
16/365 ~ Where I Live | Home | Address | Sanctuary
We love our private little road. We are in a prime spot that is just the right distance from stores and entertainment. We will be here for 8 years this year and we know this won't be our forever home because we have a dream of acreage on a lake. Acreage for my hubby and the lake for me. For now, we are happy here and perfectly content. 15/365 ~ Currently Loving | Hands | Creating | Connection
For those of you who shared 365 with me last year, you saw our very scary start with our new furry baby, Luna. Within 18 hours of adopting her she was hospitalized with parvovirus. I had never heard of this virus before but it is something I will never forget. We were told that she basically had a 50/50 chance to survive this horrible disease. So, on a Friday, I dropped her off where she received care throughout the weekend and, lo-and-behold, she fought and fought and by the next Tuesday I was able to bring her home! Another hard part of this story is that last March I had to say goodbye to my furry baby that spent 13.5 years with me. That was extremely hard so to be open to bringing in a new baby only to possibly lose in such a horrible way was really difficult. She has already made ME her person and she is always so close. I love how she will sit with me and when I pet her face, she lets her head get heavy and all of a sudden, my hands become a pillow for her. We are working hard with her to create a sweet dog and I love having a connection with a dog again. 14/365 ~ A Self Portrait | Faceless | Different Angle | From Above
We came out of church today into a beautiful snowfall. I knew I needed to capture today's photo in it! I love the snow ~ and these huge snowflakes falling from above ~ I get such a calm feeling from the beauty of it. 13/365 ~ Winter Scene |Snowy | Bright | White
It's another horribly cold day so there was no leaving the house. We played games and enjoyed our warm home. I even took a small nap ~ then woke up realizing I didn't take my photo for today so I looked out the window and realized that we have a wonderful winter scene right outside! This is what I get to look at outside my kitchen window. 12/365 ~ A Treat | Special | Sugary | Indulgence
My very dear friend spent the night last night and the visit was so long overdue - it was such a treat to have her here! She always drinks the most wonderful teas - they smell so heavenly. I love what her tea tag says, "The difference between a flower and a weed is a judgment." - Unknown Hopefully we won't go as long between our visits. She is a new mommy and a full time student and also has a job. I am so proud of all that she is working towards. She is going to go far and do great in this life! |

This is my FOURTH challenge! I completed an entire 365 in 2014 - then in 2015, I tried to do something different and failed miserably so after finishing 2016 successfully I just had to keep going in 2017! I am part of an amazing group of talented photographers who post an image from an interpretation of a prompt that we receive every day in our e-mail. It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how they translate that into a photograph. I enjoy this challenge very much and I am looking forward to seeing what 2018 brings! You can view my past projects by clicking the links below for each year. CY365
