355/365 ~ Merry & Bright | Lights | Bokeh | You
It's such an important part of life... to surround yourself with people who love and accept you for who you are. I am so lucky to have been brought into the fold of the TKD group ~ and all because my hubby and children attend. Such a happy perk! A few of us from TKD got together tonight as a bit of a Christmas party at a local brewery. It was a very nice evening with lots of laughs and great conversations!

354/365 ~ Where I Stand | Messy | Merry | Chore
This isn't such a merry Christmas sort of photo but it's a messy chore that I am not a fan of... I really don't like to cook. I CAN cook, I just don't like to. Not really sure why. Tonight, we are having breakfast and I walked away for a moment after putting the eggs on to scramble them up and the whisk fell out of the pan and splattered everywhere. Thank goodness for Luna who is my mess cleaner. 353/365 ~ Setting the Scene | Room | Glow | Peace
Our mornings are typically not the most peaceful part of the day as the kids are getting ready for school - there's lots of noise and procrastinating (on their part) as I start my work day and try to keep them on task. Why is it always a surprise that they have to brush their teeth every morning??? This morning wasn't too awful - they actually pulled out the chess board and played a game while they ate breakfast and I snuck into the corner of the living room to capture this. One day, I'll miss the noise and I do know that. So for today, I will bask in the glow of the love I have for my children 352/365 ~ Tradition | What We're Reading | What We Do Together | Every Year
Do you know how many days are left before Christmas?!? WE DO! This book is my favorite part of our Christmas tradition. Inside, there are individual ornaments that pop out and count down the days for us. Underneath each ornament, there is a sweet poem. It was Evette's turn today and the poem read: "Once his sleigh's ready to take to the skies, Santa's headed your way with a North Pole surprise!" ~ 7 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS! ~ 351/365 ~ Create | Message | Make Something | What You Love
I made this blanket back in 2005 for my hubby’s grandma. At that time, I added all her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids names to the blanket ~ 20 total. Then in 2007, I needed to add 3 more great-grandkids and her sweet puppy Scruffer who had passed away. The years have flown by and on a recent visit to grandma’s house to have lunch with her, I took the blanket with me as I realized it was missing MANY more names ~ 8 to be exact, with one more coming any day now! I am so glad I made this for her. She tells me all the time how much everyone compliments it. There is nothing I love more than to create treasures like this for my loved ones! The numbers are as follows: Grandma Gerry has 4 children, 8 grandchildren, 18 (soon to be 19) great-grandchildren! She is a blessed lady and I am so glad to be a part of this family! 350/365 ~ Joy | Contentment | Self Care | Balance
I struggled picking my favorite photo today because Luna was especially adorable during our walk. She brings contentment to my life because she is never far from my side. She balances the busyness of my days with our daily walks ~ which takes care of that self-care part by getting me off my rump and giggling as she plays in the snow (which she LOVES)! It's no surprise that she brings so much joy to my life! 347/365 ~ Decoration | Furnishings | Accessory | Bauble
This was a last minute photo tonight... it's been a busy day! 346/365 ~ Tis the Season | Glimmering | Brilliance | Joyous
My baby girl made a huge decision tonight! We had to go to the mall after Tae Kwon Do to get her brothers new shoes and she completely, out of the blue, mentioned about getting her ears pierced! They just so happen to have a little boutique in the mall that does ear piercings so that's what we did for her. She had started asking about this about 6 months ago and I really let the idea fester in her brain a bit... she isn't typically willing to give anything a try if it means pain is involved but she decided to she wanted to be brave tonight. After the first ear, I was quite concerned that she was going to say she was done but she pushed through and she has been giggling since with so much joy and can't wait to share with her friends tomorrow! |
Danette BadgerThis is my FIFTH challenge! I completed an entire 365 in 2014. In 2015, I tried to do something different and failed miserably so after finishing 2016 successfully I just had to keep going in 2017 and 2018! I am part of an amazing group of talented photographers who post an image from an interpretation of a prompt that we receive every day in our e-mail. It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how they translate that into a photograph. I enjoy this challenge very much and I am looking forward to seeing what 2019 brings! Archives
