243/365 ~ A Question | Persistent | Top of Your Mind | Inspirational
Not so much a question today but rather the persistent, nagging, coming-too-soon end of summer. My nephew brought over a coconut tonight and the kids enjoyed cracking it open and enjoyed the yummy insides. My three started school already ~ my nieces and nephews will start on Tuesday. Summer is over... Gone too soon ~ just like the coconut.

242/365 ~ Where I Stand | In My Garage | Textured | Fun Foundation
What a perfect prompt for today! My hubby and munchkins built this platform for me while I was in Vegas last weekend. We wanted the big chest freezer off the cement for the winter because we bought half a cow and it’s such a pain to go down the steps and freeze our feet to dig through the freezer. So now it’s level to the door that we enter the garage by so it’s much more convenient! My in-laws gave the big freezer to us and it was in bad shape on the outside so I took $10.00 and covered it. It’s not my favorite look but it is 100% better! We have a ton more room it seems now that we can tuck things under the foundation of the platform. I am happy to have my truck back in the garage before winter. 241/365 ~ Currently Loving | Evenings | Light | Climbers
Oh Luna! The second I crouch down to investigate something you insist on coming over to eat it... it’s as if you just don’t want to share my attention with anything. Such is life with you and I love all your quirky cuteness! 240/365 ~ Next Stop | Too Soon | Years Fly | Off Prompt
My kids started school today. It's a weird beginning because we have never had to start before Labor Day before but they are doing some building at the school next spring which means that the munchkins will be out earlier than usual too. So the next stop (on our traditional walk on the first day of school) means that I have two 7th graders and a 3rd grader. I cried WITH them while walking them TO school this year. Usually I wait until after they leave me. The boys didn't need hugs this year either which is absolutely ok - but it does a number to this momma's heart. Eve came running back to me for one last hug. One day, she'll not need them from me any more either. Gavin and Blake were sure to give me lots of morning hugs at home which is perfect. 239/365 ~ Reflect | Image | Self | Me
I have had plenty of time to reflect on me as I am going through photos from my weekend in Vegas. That was a place that I never really had any desire to visit. It's just a place that is way to busy for my liking but looking back at it, it wasn't that bad. I'm told that's because it's a pretty slow time of year so that was good. I even went out and about by myself one day where I bought myself a beverage, walked around and people-watched, and enjoyed great music down Freemont Street. My introvert ways have been challenged a lot - mostly since I turned 30. I am branching out more. I'm learning more about who I am through leadership training at work. Being hired to photograph weddings has been a huge opportunity for growth as far as how I handle big crowds. It's been good. And Vegas? Well I may not decide to make that a vacation again on my own but if a group of girls invite me to join them, I may not say no. BUT! Only if we get a private residence again, with our own private pool. (That's what I'm looking at on the screen). 238/365 ~ Feeds My Soul | Calling | Commitment | Service
Today is bittersweet - it's time to leave our private house and head home. I decided to capture this quick photo because this weekend has absolutely fed my soul. I was able to relax and had none of the regular stress of everyday life. But I do desperately miss my hubby and kids so I am glad to be going home - it's just hard to leave the serenity of having 100% ME time. I won't be home until very late tonight (very early tomorrow morning) and then the kids have their school open house and then Wednesday they start school! It's going to be right back into the busyness of life the moment I get home. 237/365 ~ About Me | Together | With Another | Love
It's this beautiful girl's birthday today! She asked me to spend it with her for the weekend in Vegas!! Here we are at the highest point of the High Roller ~ 550 feet in the sky at 2:00 this morning. It's a bit symbolic because we have been through many highs and lows throughout our 23 year friendship together and I can't wait to experience many more with her. Cheers to 34 Cyn! Love you! 235/365 ~ For Real | As Is | A Hint of Color | No Conversion
It's been quite a day! First day in Vegas with my best friend (of 23 years) and 10 other insanely lovely ladies! We have enjoyed Freemont street, a couple have been gambling, lots of sun soaking and pool time! On a more somber note, 16 years ago today was the day that my fiancee and I were in a motorcycle accident and he passed away. It's been many years since Cindy and I were together on this day so that's a big deal and we were able to reminisce and share our happy memories of Jason's life together. We have put on many miles walking - shared laughs and happy tears (in regard to Jason) - enjoyed the sights, people watching, and the FOOD is fantastic. This is from a restaurant called Eureka that Cindy insisted on going to (she's been here before). I loved this art piece. Totally sums up this incredible day! 234/365 ~ Gentle | Soothing | Mild | Friendly
I'm going to Vegas! This is a big deal for this introvert so my hubby's gentle and soothing hug goodbye was necessary to put some of my anxieties to rest. Now, on to my best friend's house for a sleepover before we fly out early tomorrow morning. |
Danette BadgerThis is my FIFTH challenge! I completed an entire 365 in 2014. In 2015, I tried to do something different and failed miserably so after finishing 2016 successfully I just had to keep going in 2017 and 2018! I am part of an amazing group of talented photographers who post an image from an interpretation of a prompt that we receive every day in our e-mail. It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how they translate that into a photograph. I enjoy this challenge very much and I am looking forward to seeing what 2019 brings! Archives
