160/365 ~ Retail Therapy | Shop | Treat | For Me
These are two extremely happy boys! They are currently standing on the pieces to start building their own bedrooms. Right now they share a large room together in the basement but before the summer is out ~ they will have their very own rooms for the first time in the 11 years of life! This retail therapy made me one happy momma when seeing their faces light up when we came home with this trailer full! Spending this kind of money usually makes my stomach hurt but this was so worth it. My hubby has been working so hard for us to be able to do this extra stuff and we are all so grateful! 159/365 ~ Where I Stand | My Yard | Footwear | Activity
I have been wanting to show the difference in my sweet girl lately and today was a great opportunity to do so. She still likes to sit between my feet and I love it. She insists on being close (just like Fuji did) and it brings me so much comfort. Her activity level is still through the roof but it means that it gets me out and about to exercise. That floppy eared baby has turned into that pointy eared teenager and she is such a joy in our home! (Inserted photo is from the "Where I Stand" prompt from November 2017). 158/365 ~ In My Hands | Holding | Clinging To | Embracing
Time is not something I am planning on holding much of this summer. The alarms have been shut off and working in a results only work environment, I have the freedom to choose to work when I will be the most productive. I have deactivated my FB account to help limit my screen time (can't part with IG though) and I am clinging to the idea of just spending as much time as I can with my kids ~ without worrying about where the hands of the clock are pointing. 157/365 ~ What I'm Reading | From Above | Relaxing | Comfy Spot
This is my reality today... Not so relaxing or comfy but I haven't grocery shopped in about 6 months so this is totally necessary. That isn't even an exaggeration! We have made a horrible habit of eating out after Tae Kwon Do or picking up something after Tae Kwon Do or eating junk and something easy after Tae Kwon Do... such bad habits! Now that the kids are off for the summer they are asking to help me more in the kitchen so that's the plan. One of them will help with a meal each time we cook. Helps me out drastically and will teach them tons which is a win-win! Eve helped cross things off our list with her marker and when she got bored with it ~ I took over. It was a busy day and now we get to sit and relax in our comfy spots at home. 156/365 ~ Time of Day | Morning | Noon | Evening
My favorite time of day, lately, has been mid afternoon. It seems to be when the day is the most pleasant and allows Luna and I to have a moment of peace during our walks. Now that school is out my babies are joining us on these walks but, for the most part, they run around and play on their bikes and scooters so we still get a bit of a peaceful walk. 155/365 ~ Currently Loving | Summer Projects | With Words | The Process
A big summer project will be starting in my home soon! We have plans to finish our basement by adding 2 bedrooms and another bathroom. Our house was built in the 70s and the basement has never been finished. We bought this house almost 8 years ago and decided that we want to give our boys their own rooms BEFORE they graduate! So, I am currently loving this reminder hanging in my living room ~ "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you..." We will need this reminder as the hard work starts and the debt piles up! 154/365 ~ A Self Portrait | Casual | Together | This Is Us
It's been a busy weekend for us all! Two of my family members are sleeping (Mike and Eve) and the other two (Gavin and Blake) are playing some video games quietly. As for me, I am enjoying the quiet while listening to my favorite radio station as we drive home from my hubby's parents where my kids spent the night last night. Luna is keeping watch beside me as I make sure we get home safely. This is absolutely us... I typically do the diving even when we are all tired because I won't let myself fall asleep behind the wheel. My hubby on the other hand always falls asleep when he stops moving or if he is sitting down. He doesn't mean to ~ he just does... 153/365 ~ Pink | Delicate | Bloom | Detour
It's our first official day of summer vacation and it's welcoming us with a constant rain shower and temps in the low 60s. So, we decided to spend the day at the waterpark! 5.5 hours to be exact. That was after we went to the kids workshop at Home Depot too. Then after playin at the park, we went to Cherry Berry for a treat, went back home to let Luna outside and quickly packed some bags for the kids to spend the night at their grandparents house. Then with no kids, Mike and I got a movie date! We saw Avengers Infinity War. Amazing movie after such an amazing day with my family! I didn't have to make a big detour to find pretty pink today ~ these pretty lilac petals are still blooming right in our yard. 152/365 ~ Off Prompt | It's Done | Official 6th Graders | Official 2nd Grader
These are the moments that make my 365 project super special. I usually try so hard to stick to the prompts and I do find that most days, I am able to capture something that the prompt suggests. However, when things like this happen, it's too important to pass up. This is the last (half) day of the 2017-2018 school year for my three. It's been an extremely special and successful year for all of them with so many happy memories made. I am so proud of who these little people are becoming! |

This is my FOURTH challenge! I completed an entire 365 in 2014 - then in 2015, I tried to do something different and failed miserably so after finishing 2016 successfully I just had to keep going in 2017! I am part of an amazing group of talented photographers who post an image from an interpretation of a prompt that we receive every day in our e-mail. It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how they translate that into a photograph. I enjoy this challenge very much and I am looking forward to seeing what 2018 brings! You can view my past projects by clicking the links below for each year. CY365
