Day 112/365: I was at a complete loss today about what to photograph for todays prompt. Then, out of the blue, I realized that I have this tattoo on my back that has barbwire on it. I forget about it because I never see it. The story behind this tattoo is this: My brother was deployed to Iraq as a Military Policeman back in 2003. He was deployed for an entire year and as it was so early in the war this was extremely hard for me and my family. My brother has a tattoo of barbwire around his arm and I wanted to do something in honor of him and the sacrifice he made for his country and his family. That is why I incorporated a heart in the design. My brother is my hero and I am extremely proud of him and everything he has done for the USA. He was very brave and this was my way of showing him how much I care for and love him. Since coming back from the war, he has suffered from PTSD, and multiple other issues from serving. It was a firsthand experience for me to watch him suffer through being away from his family for so long as he served and also the aftermath of being involved in a war. This will be a reminder for me, forever, for not only my brother, but all the men and women who have served our country.

I have taken on a challenge to take one photo a day for this entire year. I have been excited to join up with an amazing community of talented photographers who have also taken on this challenge. The goals I have for myself this year is to, first of all, complete the whole year of 365 photos. I also want to allow this challenge to teach me all I can about the equipment I have in order to better myself as a photographer. I am excited to learn and experience so much this year through this challenge. Thank you for taking the time to look through my journey. It truly means a lot to me. Archives
