Day 304/365: It is a tradition each year to go to great-grandma's house for Halloween. We have a pizza party with all our cousins and family and then we all get ready to go Trick-or-Treating. It was a chilly evening but we did our regular route which includes stopping in front of this awesome display. The man who sets this up each year is so creative and he sure does put out a spooky display!
Day 303/365: "...But the Raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only that one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour. Nothing farther then he uttered - not a feather then he fluttered - 'til I scarcely more than muttered "other friends have flown before - on the morrow he will leave me, as my hopes have flown before." Then the bird said, "Nevermore..."
Day 298/365: It's not hard to ask my kids to help me out on days where the prompt asks me to have them dress up! They had so much fun posing for me. I didn't need to do much but sit and snap some photos. Blake is a Legendary White Power Ranger, Evette is a beautiful Flower Fairy, and Gavin is a Legendary Red Power Ranger.
Day 291/365: I visited my parents today and they asked me what the prompt was... This prompted a lot of ideas from both of them. Then my dad went on a quick wheeler ride with my boys and found milkweed pods. He brought some home and we played with them as all the milkweed seeds floated away. We weren't able to get much of a breeze at their house so just my dad and I went and found some more pods and we spent some time letting them fly. I loved how this one has a rainbow effect on the strands. It was so much fun to have such help from my dad with this one today and then to watch all the seeds dawdle along on the breeze was so cool as well.
Day 290/365: This is a bit of a stretch, however, if you see the bottom of the photo - right in the middle, there is a blurry tip of a pine tree. We were driving 60 miles an hour when I took this. I had to share it. I just can't get over the beauty of this area. The bright trees in the back and even the 4 swans on the water. :) I was so glad I had my camera out when we drove by.
Day 284/365: I went on the World Wide Photo Walk today! This is my second year and it gets better each time. There is nothing better than to get out there for a set amount of time, doing something that I love, meeting people who have the same passion, and snapping photos like crazy! This one actually surprised me. I knew the dragonflies were here, but I didn't know I captured one on landing.
Day 283/365: My poor family has to endure so much with me! Today, I text everyone at about 9:00 in the morning to see what they would be doing this evening... Lucky for me (and not so lucky for them) I made them all coordinate clothing and meet out at our parent's house so we could have a fun shoot. I do this every year, but this year I wanted to have us all match a bit. It was a lot of fun for sure!
Day 281/365: These beautiful days are going to get more sporadic! I have to talk my kids into going outside after school. They are so worn out from the busy day I suppose. Today, we were able to enjoy the fresh air and take the bikes out for a race. No one really "won" ~ except mom ~ making memories! :)
I have taken on a challenge to take one photo a day for this entire year. I have been excited to join up with an amazing community of talented photographers who have also taken on this challenge. The goals I have for myself this year is to, first of all, complete the whole year of 365 photos. I also want to allow this challenge to teach me all I can about the equipment I have in order to better myself as a photographer. I am excited to learn and experience so much this year through this challenge. Thank you for taking the time to look through my journey. It truly means a lot to me.
