Day 332/365: A huge tradition in my life around this time of year is getting my annual gift of homemade calendars made and ready for Christmas. These are my favorite things about Christmas. Everyone who receives one absolutely LOVES them and it makes me so happy to be able to do these. They are made 100% out of scratch! I start with white paper and add, add, and add to them until they are colorful, photo filled, and ready to fill up with all the events for the upcoming year. I make 6 of these each year for grandparents, aunts and uncles, and even a good friend of mine, and of course, one of my own. I make them for the upcoming year as a look back on the previous year so they truly become a year long project. (January of 2015 will have a photo taken in January of 2014. It's a neat way to see how much we have all changed in the course of a year). Another thing about this is that I am not a person who uses her phone for her photos much, so instead of going to my norm of using my camera, I used my phone for this photo...
Day 330/365: I wasn't able to get out and about today to look for a colorful scene. So, while I was cuddling with my hubby watching Titanic (yes, my husband does watch these movies with me), I loved how they depicted the difference from what the glory of the boat was, to what it is now, a mess under the ocean. A very sad mess for sure. There were too many lives lost on that horribly tragic accident and this movie really tells a wonderful story of the short voyage that this majestic boat had. Day 329/365: Desserts are even better when they are shared with loved ones. I was asked to bring a Snicker Salad along with some other things for Thanksgiving on Thursday to my husband's parent's house and I was happy to get a head start on preparing them.
Day 326/365: I love how dramatic flames can be. This one really stood out because it looks like a person to me. We enjoyed the 35 degree weather today and we spent it outside by the fire and enjoyed playing in the snow on the four wheelers. A great day for my hubby's birthday!
Day 325/365: I was very blessed today with a very unpredictable sight. I am sitting at home working and I just happened to look outside and saw this beautiful woodpecker flying to the neighbors trees. I ran to my camera, slipped outside on a snow covered deck in my socks and did my best to capture a nice picture. I truly do love these unpredictable opportunities!

I have taken on a challenge to take one photo a day for this entire year. I have been excited to join up with an amazing community of talented photographers who have also taken on this challenge. The goals I have for myself this year is to, first of all, complete the whole year of 365 photos. I also want to allow this challenge to teach me all I can about the equipment I have in order to better myself as a photographer. I am excited to learn and experience so much this year through this challenge. Thank you for taking the time to look through my journey. It truly means a lot to me. Archives
