Day 242/365: I am absolutely LOVING night photography lately. This was taken with a 30 second exposure. We were at my in-laws last night and they have a security light near their house. That is what illuminated the trees. Then the stars were just about covered by the clouds moving over the trees so this was all I could get with the stars. Night photography has renewed my love of pushing that shutter! I am also playing around with light painting.
Day 240/365: Our backpacks are empty as of last night when we were able to go to the open house at school and drop everything off. So, they are ready and waiting for another year of school starting Tuesday! The pins that I have on their backpacks say "gooder, better, bestest." It prompts us to remember the quote by Tim Duncan: "Good, better, best, never let it rest. Until your good is better and your better is best." Day 239/365: I am a part of a community of talented photographers who are also on this 365 journey and every day we get an e-mail with an idea for a photo. How lucky I was to open my e-mail today and see the prompt! I have twin boys! I thought right away that I would get a photo of them together. But then I thought that I do that A LOT!! (Not that that's a bad thing, but I wanted to do something a bit different today). So, looking around I realized that my house was in shambles from getting everyone ready for daycare for the day. I saw both of their shoes laying in the middle of the floor because they decided on wearing their sandals today instead of their tennis shoes. I don't typically buy them the same things - I leave that up to their grandparents who love to buy identical stuff. However, when you raise two little boys that are the same age and have the same interests and likes, sometimes you just can't talk them into getting different things. Hence, the same shoes = 2 of a Kind. It truly speaks loudly of who they are as twins too!
Day 236/365: I love when my "where I stand" days fall during a time that I am with special people. This is a photo of myself, my best friend, and her sister (also my friend), at the lake where we just celebrated my best friend's husband's 30th birthday. It was an extremely memorable and wonderful weekend. One that I will treasure forever.
Day 234/365: This is an old photo, I took it on the World Wide Photo Walk last year. I had so much fun on that walk! I am planning on going this year too. It is such a great thing and I recommend it to everyone! On a happy side note, I submitted a photo last year in my group and I was voted the runner up on that image (they decide on just one image from the group who submits to enter it into the world wide photo contest). It wasn't this image, but it was a huge compliment to me! |

I have taken on a challenge to take one photo a day for this entire year. I have been excited to join up with an amazing community of talented photographers who have also taken on this challenge. The goals I have for myself this year is to, first of all, complete the whole year of 365 photos. I also want to allow this challenge to teach me all I can about the equipment I have in order to better myself as a photographer. I am excited to learn and experience so much this year through this challenge. Thank you for taking the time to look through my journey. It truly means a lot to me. Archives
