Day 171/365: This is the very beginning of a GREAT weekend away with some of our very best friends. We have a full weekend planned with lots of visiting around the fire, meals around the fire, games around the fire, drinks around the fire, and great memories made around the fire.

Paul Bunyan greets them immediately when entering the park by their names! Babe the Blue Ox is also famous in the area as many businesses have him displayed and painted as their own personalized advertisements. This one sits in front of our local coffee shop in Pillager.
Day 169/365: I did take a few minutes away from work today to stop at a nearby public park. I have lived in the area for 21 years and in the little town of Pillager for almost 4 years and I have never stopped here. It's a beautiful little park with a covered picnic area, some swings for little ones, and this beautiful stream that runs on the outside perimeter of the whole park. I was glad for this prompt today because I just don't know when I would have stopped. It's a beautiful area and I was glad to have an excuse to pause my day and enjoy the sounds of this bustling creek for a while. Day 167/365: "I want to touch the moon." Every night, after the stories and hugs and kisses, we turn on a little lady bug that projects a starry night sky onto her ceiling and walls. Every night - she insists on touching the moon. Every night... It's hard to describe how this makes me feel - how full of joy this makes me feel. I only pray that her excitement of this ritual carries through her whole life and that the hardness of this world will never squash her dreams of the ease of touching the moon. I always want her to reach for the moon - no matter where her life may take her.
My daughter completely warmed my heart when she saw me photographing some bees on my lilacs bushes - she ran in the house, grabbed her camera and case, and came to take my hand and we walked around snapping some photos together. This is such a special memory for me. I hope she has a love for photography. I know how much it has changed my life. I was first given a camera at age 5 - she is 3 - so here's to a lifelong love of photography - and sharing it with my children!
163/365: Today was a very appropriate day for this prompt for me. It was WAY past due for my yard to be mowed. So, this morning, I ran out and snapped some photos before I went to work to tame the jungle that had sprouted up this sprint. Today, with the help of my dad, I was able to get all my goals done - and it only took me SIX hours!! EEK!! It was very worth it though because it all looks great and it is finally done. I wanted to do this as a surprise to my husband as an early Father's Day gift. He was pleasantly surprised to see how much work my dad and I did today. I'm going to be dreaming in green tonight!

I have taken on a challenge to take one photo a day for this entire year. I have been excited to join up with an amazing community of talented photographers who have also taken on this challenge. The goals I have for myself this year is to, first of all, complete the whole year of 365 photos. I also want to allow this challenge to teach me all I can about the equipment I have in order to better myself as a photographer. I am excited to learn and experience so much this year through this challenge. Thank you for taking the time to look through my journey. It truly means a lot to me. Archives
