GUILT-FREE ~ Picture Style ~ Minimalist ~ 151:365PictureToday:2021
I worked a bit this morning. Then I had a friend tell me that I have a way of cheering her up which was something she needed today so I logged off and we wound up floating the river for about 5 hours! It was something I needed just as much! What’s crazy is that when I picked her up, I told her right away that I felt guilty about this excursion because floating the river is something my kids love to do. She reminded me that we will have countless floats throughout the summer. Moms need this time away to just make life work! Philippians 3:13-14 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

I think I totally botched the minimalist idea today but I couldn’t resist coming out to watch the lightening show. That’s what you’re seeing here ~ and I did think it worked for the opposite part of the prompt. I only wish I could have caught a bolt of lightning instead of just the beautiful flashes of light. It is a stark opposite to the couple of stars in the sky. John 6:22 The next day the crowd that had stayed on the opposite shore of the lake realized that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not entered it with his disciples, but that they had gone away alone. I can't take credit for this beautiful photo as this belongs to Gavin. I went for a bike ride with my boys and on our way out of the driveway at my in-laws, we startled a doe who very kindly stood by while we watched her for a bit. We had no idea that we startled her away from her brand-new baby. On our way back home, Gavin caught a glimpse of this little beauty and he immediately grabbed my camera and went back. Momma stood by and very patiently let Gavin capture some photos. I am so impressed with HIS skill using my big camera. He captured such great images! Psalms 111:3 All that He does is splendid and majestic; His righteousness endures forever. CRAVING ~ Picture You ~ Skill ~ Self Portrait ~ 148:365PictureToday:2021
So, so, SO glad these months are finally upon us! Where camping trips are being planned with so many of our loved ones. It’s something we all crave so much. We unplug and enjoy so many hours of conversation around the fire. This weekend we are camping with my husband’s family right in his mom and dad’s yard. Perfect! Psalms 78:29 They ate and were completely satisfied, for He gave them what they craved. ENGAGING ~ Guest Prompt ~ Skill ~ 147:365PictureToday:2021
I have no trouble at all engaging in some “me time.” Especially when seeing such a lovely little field of these beautiful flowers blooming in their full glory ~ they just called to me enticing me to stop and stay awhile. Acts 19:8 Then he entered the synagogue and spoke boldly over a period of three months, engaging in discussion and trying to persuade them about the things of the kingdom of God. 5 O'CLOCK ~ Picture You ~ Skill ~ Picture Time ~ 146:365PictureToday:2021
I love Wednesday!! It’s truly the only day out of a 7 day week where we plan nothing! It means that if I get off at 3:00, I may just curl up on the couch and find myself sleeping around the 5:00 hour... my hubby captured this of his “three girls” (because Luna is pretty special to him too) all snoozing away. Psalms 127:2 In vain you get up early and stay up late, working hard to have enough food — yes, He gives sleep to the one He loves. PLEASURE ~ Picture You ~ Skill ~ Where I Stand ~ 145:365PictureToday:2021
This was a “oh no, I didn’t take a photo today!” photo... I am actually bummed about that because I had the most lovely evening with such a dear friend of mine and I didn’t get a photo of us together. 🥺 Instead, the beautiful moonlight shining off the lake near my home is what it’s going to be tonight. Unfortunately, I only had my phone but I did enjoy stopping for a bit to enjoy the peaceful sounds of the water and critters. Psalms 37:23 A man’s steps are established by the Lord, and He takes pleasure in his way. WORK ~ Picture You ~ Skill ~ 144:365PictureToday:2021
I am very successful at multitasking! I think my brain actually works best with two or three things going on. For example, the agenda for tonight includes some blog writing for my amazing 365 community, proofreading three Junior Black Belt papers that my munchkins wrote for upcoming Tae Kwon Do testing, listening to Pandora, enjoying this amazing 83 degree weather with very little humidity (which is the only reason I can enjoy weather over 80 degrees), keeping an eye on Luna because she likes to wander, AND enjoying a glass of wine all at once! The work must go on! 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my dear brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. VERSATILE ~ Picture You ~ Skill ~ 143:365PictureToday:2021
I’m not afraid of much except falling (like the feeling rollercoasters give you when falling). I’m very willing to try new things, venture out on my own (I much prefer to be alone actually), and experience all I can while living my best life. I truly hope to pass this down to my daughter who I watched playing with her cousin, Lexi, while we took a break during our wheeler ride today. Lexi told me that she thinks I am a pretty awesome mom being comfortable to go do this by myself. I explained to her that if something went wrong (like a breakdown) that it’s all part of the adventure and adds to the versatility of things I can learn. We didn’t break down and enjoyed a two hour ride ~ just us three girls. We got dusty and rained on today but had a blast! James 1:2-3 Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. POSE ~ Picture More ~ Negative Space ~ 142:365PictureToday:2021
These two ~ Blake and my nephew Devon ~ helped me with a photography idea tonight (which I will share in the June 365 Picture Today blog). It was fun hanging out with my nephew and Blake alone for a change. They made great assistants too! Ezekiel 17:2 “Son of man, pose a riddle and speak a parable to the house of Israel.” |
Danette BadgerThis is the 7th year I have participated with a 365 photography challenge! In 2015 I didn't follow a 365 project, unfortunately. So, from 1/1/14 to 12/31/20 I have taken 2,483 daily photos (beside my own personal photos) and plan to add another 365 for this year! Starting 1/1/21 I am officially part of the 365 Picture Today Team which means that I will be responsible for writing some of the prompts that are delivered daily to our community and also some blogging pieces and features of some of our community members. It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how it's translated into a photograph. I enjoy this challenge and community very much and I am looking forward to seeing what 2021 brings! Join us @ 365picturetoday.com Archives
