Day 61/365: I got Fujisu when she was a few weeks old. She was a gift to me after a tragic loss in my life. For the first few months of her life I never put her down. She was so small I would put her in the pockets of my sweaters and jackets. She is quirky... She insists on eating on carpet - which means that she walks from her bowl in the kitchen all the way across the floor to the carpet in the living room. After being let in from outside she runs the house until she finds me just to touch my leg with her nose. If I am in my room with the door closed, she lays outside the door until I let her in. If I go to the bathroom she lays outside the door until I come out. When I sit anywhere in my house, she insists on being right beside me - either by my hip or by my legs. She sleeps by my feet all night long. To summarize, she can't ever be too far from me. And because I had her for many years before we had children, I am the only one she really cares about. She isn't a big fan of the kids but she isn't totally upset by them either. She is my companion and company. She doesn't judge me, she doesn't criticize me, and she truly loves me just because she loves me. I can cry in front of her, laugh in front of her, scream in front of her - and all she knows and cares about is that I am always here for her too.

I have taken on a challenge to take one photo a day for this entire year. I have been excited to join up with an amazing community of talented photographers who have also taken on this challenge. The goals I have for myself this year is to, first of all, complete the whole year of 365 photos. I also want to allow this challenge to teach me all I can about the equipment I have in order to better myself as a photographer. I am excited to learn and experience so much this year through this challenge. Thank you for taking the time to look through my journey. It truly means a lot to me. Archives
