Just last year, this handsome young man's big sister graduated, and I was blessed to capture those beautiful memories too. Mom and dad have been busy the last two years with back-to-back graduates but that just means they get to enjoy what the next chapter brings - for all of them.

I first met these two handsome young men back in 2005 when they were just 2 days old. Our very dear, close friends blessed us all when they arrived. And now, I'm taking their graduation photos! Oh, where does the time go?? I truly love these boys like my own and I am so proud of the amazing young men they are becoming. They will go far in this life - there's no doubt in my mind about that! I'm feeling quite nostalgic about this session and just had to get a photo to match the very first day I met them...
Faith's mom - a wonderful woman who is such a special person in my life - contacted me after quite some time got in between us seeing each other. I was so excited to hear from her and we were able to spend this afternoon together enjoying the beautiful weather and the opportunity to catch up on exciting things that have been happening with our families. Then, as if it weren’t perfect enough just for those reasons above, I was able to get to know this beautiful girl some more and enjoyed hearing about her plans for the future. She's going to go far!
The big day is finally here - the venue is perfect - the weather couldn't be any better - the guests all traveled to celebrate with the happy couple... All the good things that could have happened did - and all in one day for a couple that deserves nothing but happiness their whole life together. Congratulations Sam and Tanya!
I know this young woman because her uncle and I have been friends for 20+ years! Isn't she lovely!? It was just her and I today as we explored the arboretum, and she gave me the most wonderful tour of the gardens. One of which, her grandma so lovingly takes care of and manages. She loves books and is such a personable young lady and kindness radiates from her! I'm so lucky to have such amazing friends in my life when it affords me the opportunity to get to know their families in this way.
Oh this sweet baby girl is surrounded by so much love! We couldn't have asked for a better morning photo shoot by the lake - perfect weather, perfect subjects, and meeting a new baby - this sure made my Monday morning!
I met Jason in 2000 and we were actually roommates for a bit 2002. Then life happened - time flew by and I didn't see him again until late 2016 when I got to meet Natasha and Arron and I did a photo session for them on that beautiful autumn day. Fast forward to now and these two beautiful people are tying their lives together in marriage. Oh, what a blessing it is to have witnessed this. Blessings on your life together my friends! It's so hard to pick the photos to share!
When Crystal asked me to take photos of her family, of course, I wouldn't turn that down. And then, when Jim's mom stepped out of the car I was floored because Carol is an old co-worker of mine when K-Mart used to be in town, and I worked there in 2001-2002 roughly. WOW! So awesome to see her again and catch up. Such a small world. I was so happy to meet Jim's daughter and her family as well. It was a great day!
When I say it's a blessing to be able to watch a munchkin grow up from their newborn days - I'm really only able to use that word because of the lack of better words to use. It truly is such a blessing! I have watched Taylen grow - year by year - since she was born, and I love this girl and her family so much. It's always a highlight to my spring to see them all. (And better yet, I get to see them every winter because Taylen's older sister's birthday is in November).
Sweet baby Josephine is here! She is surrounded by so much love from her big brothers and her wonderful parents. So happy for this beautiful family! She is 14 days old and I enjoyed meeting her/holding her and spending some time with them all.
This beautiful lady is my cousin, and she is getting married to that handsome guy later this year. I am especially excited because I get to be a guest at her wedding (I haven't been a guest at a wedding for 10 years)! It was such a cold day today, but we were able to take breaks and had our jackets near at all times (well, I was able to be bundled the whole time and poor Amy and Dustin had to warm up after each photo). It was still a great afternoon with this sweet couple, and I can't wait to be there when they tie the knot in September!
I met Tanya at our (yes OUR) nephew's soccer game last year. Zaiden is her sister's son and my brother-in-law's son. Her sister mentioned that I do photography and Tanya asked about an engagement session and also the potential to do her wedding. UMM! SURE! 😊 So, we took this afternoon (and froze our rumps off) to get some sweet and romantic photos of this super sweet couple. Tanya has the best laugh ever and we were giggling the whole time. A couple that laughs together, stays together!
I am so excited for this amazing family! They are expecting a little girl this coming February and I can't wait to meet her. We got together today for a quick shoot because of the cold but they always turn out so nice because of the incredible smiles this family always gives.
Casey is our cousin and just happens to be Amanda's sister. And after I did Amanda and Andy's photos in October, Casey wanted to have some done with her and Kevin. Of course I couldn't say no! I always love to see these girls and love to meet their significant others. We braved the cold today and got some pretty special shots! (It was especially fun because they wore matching pajamas)!
I had the great honor of meeting Rep. John Poston and his wife, Pamela at the Clays to End Hunger event in August, and then we got to visit again at the Fishing to End Hunger event in October. Now, I get the great privilege of meeting more of their family today! Such an incredible family with hearts of gold!
This sweet girl is our cousin. Her and Andy drove a bit to come to one of my favorite parks to get some nice autumn-time photos done on this chilly afternoon. These two just radiated happiness and love and I am so happy they have each other!
I got to do their wedding in 2019... I got to do their son Noah's one-year photos in 2020... and now they are expecting another baby boy next March! I am so incredibly blessed to have gotten to know this adorable family throughout these years. I can't wait to meet baby Baker next year!
This family is so wonderful! My hubby got to know Leah because they used to have very close lockers when they were in school. So, all these years since, I have been blessed to create a friendship with her, her husband, their kids, and now even her parents and brother and his family. This whole afternoon was beautiful, and this family has so much to smile about - they have been so blessed!
My most wonderful boss ever hired me back in September 2020 when I did this handsome guy's older sister's grad photos. I couldn't say no to hanging out with my boss and meeting another of her lovely children again, so we spent this afternoon at a local park with the most beautiful areas to capture these great photos! He made it so easy!
After working with the Outreach Program for the Clays to End Hunger event in August, I was thrilled to be asked to capture the Outreach's longest running fundraiser - this Fishing to End Hunger event today and tomorrow. I was blown away by the sportsmanship of the contestants, and the sheer number of those that participated. There were a TON of boats! It was a blessing to be a part of and I can't wait for next year. And again, I met the most amazing people!
(This excerpt is taken from the FTEH website) The Fishing to End Hunger Contest started in 2013. Bar Harbor Supper Club is the host venue, which is beautifully located on Gull Lake. Fishermen and women enjoy a great registration/dinner event held on Friday night before the tournament. On Saturday, they launch from Bar Harbor to fish the Gull Lake Chain in search of walleyes. The tournament benefits The Outreach Program of the Brainerd Lakes Area. Outreach BLA provides meals to soup kitchens, food shelves, community meal programs, shelters, churches and wherever there is a need for food. No child, regardless of age; should be worried about where their next meal is coming from. Located in Nisswa, Minnesota; their focus is that 80-90% of the meals they package will be distributed in Minnesota. The remaining 10-20% will be used for disaster relief and/or international distribution. The Outreach Program of Brainerd Lakes was founded in 2012. As a humanitarian food aid organization, Outreach BLA packages and distributes 10 different meals. Back in September 2020 I was blessed to meet this beautiful new baby girl and her parents (who were referred to me by another great family I take photos for). Today they asked me to come back and capture her one-year photos and I was thrilled to see her again.
My hubby works for this great company and they have been voted the #1 HVAC company for 2021 in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Pretty proud of him and all the guys he works with. It's a great place and makes going to work wonderful for him when he has made such great friends with his co-workers and boss! The last photo I shared is the ad that was placed in the Brainerd Dispatch. (Yes, I am in one of them... the original plan was to have my whole family included but my kids couldn't join us. I was honored to be included but think that the photo they chose for the newspaper is the best).
I got to do something I've never done before! Justine is a swimmer and she wanted to highlight that a bit for her grad photos. So, I prepared what I needed to get into the pool and keep my equipment safe and I was able to capture some pretty neat photos for her. Before the pool though, we had a wonderful time hiking through a beautiful park where this girl has a natural ability to just look stunning in every photo I took.
Spencer was so easy to work with today. He gave me a ton to work with and we were able to use so many beautiful backgrounds and props that he had available. Mom and his cousin joined us which was very nice. Such a beautiful day too! Couldn't have been better.
I can't believe this little beauty is already one year old. She celebrated by doing photos with her mommy and grandpa. I loved this combination for a simple, but priceless photoshoot! Kaidence will treasure these one day, I hope.
