I first met little Emma back in 2013 when her mom trusted this newbie/self-taught photographer to capture some family photos. We got together again in 2014 for some more family moments and that was actually the last time I saw Emma. But I did get to meet with Emma's mom and big brother again in 2016 when her brother needed me to capture HIS graduation photos. Now, it's Emma's turn! We had the best evening! We shared life stories, current events, and future plans (both Emma and her mom have some amazing things happening in their lives right now). Emma made this so easy for me. I am so glad we got together all these years later - she has grown into such a beautiful young woman who I am so extremely blessed to know! I had a pretty crazy idea while I was driving to our site for the photo shoot tonight. I thought that it would be so cool to have my model fall back into the water and I would stand above and capture as they made a splash. Well, I mentioned this to Emma and she was all for it! This is how we wrapped up our time together and I was thrilled that this worked! Thank you for being so much fun Emma! I will remember this time with you forever! A huge bonus for me was that her mom was taking photos of ME taking photos of her beautiful daughter. I am so grateful for these because I don't get to see myself doing this photography thing that I love so much. And to see the side view of the splash photos tells even more of that fun story. Plus, I had to give this sweet girl a wet hug after asking her to plunge into the cold water. It doesn't matter how hot it is outside, that lake water can be so cold especially when you just dunk yourself in out of the blue.
