Day One Hundred Sixty Two: Where I Stand | Step Back | Look Down | Perspective TEN YEARS!!! It's our anniversary today. Ten years later and still going strong! I am blessed to say that I have married my very best friend. This man deals with so much from me and I don't deserve him but yet he pours himself into what makes us us. I am so grateful that we have 10 years married under our belts. I can't wait to see what the next 10 years and beyond bring us! More from today... This wasn't the easiest thing to do because between Mike and I we had to run back and forth to get the timer to go... (my remote wasn't working - so frustrating)

Day One Hundred Sixty One: A Morsel | Treat | Munch On | Break I stretched the prompt today and went with the idea of how a morsel can also describe something small. So... This is my first attempt at giving this coloring craze a try and I can see the appeal. I found this to be quite addicting today - coloring all these little spaces - making something gorgeous come alive from the stark black and white that it started from... Then to go even further with my stretch - this is day one of a 12 day vacation for me - so I am going to treat myself to any pleasure I choose during this time - which may mean lots of munchies on this highly needed break! Day One Hundred Sixty: Makes Me Smile | Packages | Goodies | Surprises
Our mailbox doesn't always bring surprises. It's usually just junk mail. Today, I received some coupons for Jo Ann Fabrics though! That was a nice surprise - I may have to take a shopping trip soon. To be honest, when I get to the mailbox and find it empty - that's when I really smile. No junk to recycle - no bills to pay - no bad news. So, yes, those surprises make me smile. Day One Hundred Fifty Nine: Brave | Spunky | Spirited | Adventurous
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! How do we know if we will be successful if we don't take that first step? Be Brave and go out on that limb. Be Spunky and play in the murky creek water and get your hair wet. Be Spirited and don't let anyone tell who you are or who you should be. Be Adventurous and go off of the beaten path and discover something new. Always remember ~ you are braver than you believe ~ stronger than you seem ~ smarter than you think ~ and twice as beautiful as you could ever imagine!
Day One Hundred Fifty Five: A Message | A Note | A Sign | A Letter
Some messages out there are pretty self explanatory. :) Day One Hundred Fifty Four: On a Building | Architecture | Construction | Designed
I always said I was born in the wrong era... I picture myself being more like a woman in a gown going to fancy parties. Or maybe even living with the love of my life on our own land, working that land raising our own food and providing for ourselves - but still taking the time to ride our wagon to the town events. I picture myself getting dressed up in my Sunday best and having the opportunity to wear that heirloom broach that sits on my chest of drawers... This building would be where the party is. THE ELK'S BALL -- It will be the Sensation of the Social Season. In 1901 the committees of the Elk's lodge were hard at work making their first annual ball one of the best social events of the season. The Metropolitan Orchestra of St. Paul will be providing the musical entertainment for the evening. The committee on decorations have planned a scheme for the dancing hall that is on a scale never before attempted in the city - one where the hall will be transformed into a veritable fairy land. The evening will provide light and dainty refreshments throughout the evening which include ices, cake, ice cream, frappe, etc. Handsomely dressed young ladies will be serving said refreshments "in a manner to tempt the appetite." All in all it will undoubtedly be the great event of the season. (Brainerd Dispatch, 25 January 1901, p. 4, c. 2) Day One Hundred Fifty Three: Written | Print | Bound | Recorded
The very first book I remember reading all on my own was during a camping trip with my family when I was about 7 I think... Sarah, Plain and Tall. I loved that book! I still love that book and I still have it. That started my love of all books. I am especially fond of romances. And then, who can beat Dr. Seuss? That has been my kids' favorite lately so we read a lot of those stories at bedtime which is why I wanted to add a quote from him. I am grateful that they are showing such a desire for books themselves! I have a large collection for them to enjoy as they grow because I refuse to get rid of any books that we have accumulated through the years. |

This is the second time I have taken on this challenge. I completed a 365 in 2014 - took 2015 off and decided that this year I wanted to do another challenge. I am part of an amazing group of talented photographers who post an image from an interpretation of a prompt that we receive every day in our e-mail. It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how they translate that into a photograph. I am kicking myself that I didn't do a challenge in 2015 so this is me getting back into doing something I enjoy so very much! Archives
