Right before I went out to take this couple’s grandson’s graduation photos on their property, they asked me to capture a few photos of them with their furry baby. I was more than happy to do so. THEN, after photos of their grandson, they spoiled me with a delicious meal that warmed us all up after being outside on this chilly Sunday afternoon! Thank you for such kind hospitality!

Tiernan and I have a couple of awesome things in common! A love of trap shooting and a love of God! His mom and I have created a very special friendship through our involvement in Tae Kwon Do (she is a 3rd degree black belt and I am just a mom on the sidelines watching). Anyway, we made sure to do a couple of different things for Tiernan’s grad photos. We first met at their house and took advantage of the beautiful weather ~ then on the following Sunday, his mom drove me out to his grandparents place for some more awesome scenery that we got to enjoy! So happy to know this family!
Mr. & Mrs. Halling!!! I am so extremely blessed to know this couple! They just radiate love for each other and I could feel it throughout their entire wedding day. Lindsay’s dress is incredible isn’t it?!? And of course her handsome groom, Dustin, looks pretty dapper as well! They had such a lovely ceremony followed by an extremely fun reception surrounded by so many loved ones. Their garter toss was awesome because Lindsay played a little trick on Dustin by having one of the groomsmen sit in for her. Dustin had the best reaction to it! Then of course, getting to actually feel his new wife’s smooth leg in comparison ~ yeah, I am sure that was much better! Keep laughing with each other guys and you will have a happy marriage! Congratulations!! 9/27/2019 Britteny and Luke got married on this beautiful Friday afternoon. Each moment of their day was precious but for me, as the outsider looking in, I will never forget the emotion felt when Britteny and her siblings shared a dance in memory of their parents who passed this last year. The other thing that was especially meaningful was the end of their day when we stole a few moments so they could do their God’s Knot ~ A Cord of Three Strands ceremony. I loved being able to witness that! Luke and Britteny, I am so very happy for you both and wish nothing but the best for you and your little family! Always keep God first and there is nothing you won’t accomplish in your marriage! "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." Ecclesiastes 4:12 NINE years I have known this beautiful young lady! We have been neighbors for all these years and my kids absolutely adore her! She babysat for us and we are so grateful for the kindness and love she has showered on our babies throughout the years. My daughter still asks to "go to Rachael's" to play. I have to remind her that Rachael is busy with school, friends, and work so play time is harder for her now that she's older. Such is life! We are so lucky to see how life has blessed Rachael and we can't wait to see where she goes from here and after graduation. Thank you, Rachael, for being such a big part of our lives! You are unbelievably stunning - inside and out! Today was incredible! I have been on a Trap team myself for the last 3 years at Lakeshore Conservation Club and have made such great friends. Two of which happen to be David and Heather who orchestrated this fund raiser for the Pillager Trap Team at Hunt's Point Gun Club today. They asked me to come out to capture some of the fun the shooters had today! I would have liked to participate with those fun shotguns myself, but I was just as content shooting photos all day too! My boys can't wait to join the trap team next year! The mom of this handsome young man and I go way back because we graduated from the same high school. We have some years between us but we were happy to discover that we chose the same school for our own children to attend. Her 3rd baby and my boys are actually in the same grade! Anyway, back in September of 2014 I was invited to their home to capture photos of this family of 6 and it was so much fun! I was thrilled when mom reached out again to capture these for her oldest who is set to graduate next spring. It's amazing how quickly these years have gone by and it was so awesome to see this young man again. Isn't he handsome!?!? I first met little Emma back in 2013 when her mom trusted this newbie/self-taught photographer to capture some family photos. We got together again in 2014 for some more family moments and that was actually the last time I saw Emma. But I did get to meet with Emma's mom and big brother again in 2016 when her brother needed me to capture HIS graduation photos. Now, it's Emma's turn!
We had the best evening! We shared life stories, current events, and future plans (both Emma and her mom have some amazing things happening in their lives right now). Emma made this so easy for me. I am so glad we got together all these years later - she has grown into such a beautiful young woman who I am so extremely blessed to know! Allison was welcomed into this world on March 30. She has two older (TWIN) sisters that love her so very much. Plus, she is my 2nd cousin! I was blessed enough to capture Katie and Marc's wedding, then when Lillian and Evelyn came I was able to get their one year photos and now Allison too! Katie was hoping we would have been able to get more of a new born session in but because we live 2 hours apart, we just weren't able to make that happen. So Allison is 11 weeks old here. Oh I was in heaven getting all these sweet baby cuddles. Allison was so laid back and didn't mind me putting her in the grass or a bucket. Giggle. She is such a beautiful addition to this favorite family of mine and I can't wait to see all three of these girls grow together! Last year I had the opportunity to take graduation photos for this handsome young man. His mom is a very dear friend of mine and asked me to bring my camera to his graduation party because they were also going to have a ceremony to celebrate his Eagle Scout accomplishment with the Boy Scouts. Wow! What an achievement and I am so glad I witnessed it! Not only that, but this ambitious guy graduated with his high school diploma AND his AA degree from college all at once. Mom and dad both beamed pride and it was so cool that his grandpa and uncle (both Eagle Scouts too) were there for him as well! Grandpa even read the Eagle Scout oath for Cameron to repeat. Good for you Cameron!!! There is nothing that can hold you back from an amazing life! The main focus of tonight was to capture the littlest beauty of the family, Taylen, because she is ONE year old already! I love how mom plans to get a quick family shot in each time I come to get photos of her girls too. I hope that she loves looking back at those especially and enjoys seeing how all 4 of them change throughout the years. Back in early September, I was invited to join one of my very dear friends and a group of ladies from her church for a weekend up in Duluth. This was such a special weekend for me because I live 2 hours away from these gals but they included me anyway. So, that's how I met this beautiful bride. She was telling us on that weekend that her and her fiancee haven't set a date yet. But then, in November she sent me a message asking if I would like to photograph her wedding! Ummmm, YES! Flash forward and today's the day! They had the most laid back and comfortable environment for their special day. No fancy flare was necessary for this couple as they start their lives as husband and wife. I am so blessed to have met you all those months ago and then to share this special day with you two. You had a beautiful wedding! Another special occasion today was that it was the groom's father's birthday. They made sure to honor that by celebrating him with a birthday cake too! I have a new boss at my regular day job. My new boss shows so much interest in who I am. She remembered that I had mentioned that I do photography as a hobby and she approached me to see if I would be willing to take the formal basketball photos for this school because she is in the Boosters Club. (I went to Staples-Motley so it was so cool to visit the old buildings again)! I was so apprehensive about this because I don't typically like to do prints but of course, this is the occasion that parents like to have a photo printed, or a button, or magnet. I learned so much with this experience! It was quite the endeavor and I stayed up late A LOT working on these but I am so glad I was given the opportunity to do this. I can't get over how much my boss is pouring into me - both professionally and personally. She is definitely a leader worth following! I took all the group shots of each team and then individual photos for any of the kids who wanted individual prints and things. I learned a lot through this and next time it will be easier for sure. IT WAS SO COLD TODAY! This made things quite difficult because we would throw the jackets to the side really fast, try to get the kids to look not-so-cold, and then put jackets right back on. We were hoping to take advantage of location more but the wind didn't make that very pleasant for us. So, we decided that we will just have to get together again, hopefully next spring. Oh these precious precious girls! I always have so much fun seeing these four and I am so grateful that they ask me to come to their home to do this with them. Goodness they make these babies cute! My beautiful little niece who was my flower girl at my wedding, who could sing Kid Rock word for word at age 3, who has grown into an incredible young woman will be graduating after this school year is done. It's hard to believe how quick it all goes. Oh Allie, you are so loved and you will go so far in this life. (Man did we freeze to get these)! It's pretty neat how I met this lovely lady. She contacted me because one of my very good friends works with her. Then, when we finally met up for photos, we were waiting for her hubby to join us and she said that he worked at the school. Well, I finally put it together! Mr. Box happens to be teaching my boys this year in 5th grade! We had only met once at the fall conferences but it was so nice to take a few moments with him and his lovely wife and son during his lunch break on this snowy November afternoon. Today, I was invited to witness a wedding behind my camera and it was amazing! This young couple oozed love! You could feel it in every detail of the day. From the way they planned the day together, the way they looked at each other, the way they sought each other out when their guests would inevitably separate them throughout the day, the way they cuddled and kissed, and especially the way they made God the center of their day... those things prove how strong their marriage is going to be and that it's going to stand the test of time. I am so honored to say that I witnessed this young couple start their married life together. I pray that their lives together bring them nothing but blessings. (Another special note on this day is that my brother came and acted as my second shooter for the day. It allowed me to spend some time with him too and I have to say he did an awesome job taking photos and also helped me out so much)! On the 5th I met this lovely young lady who told me about her boyfriend. This is her boyfriend. I haven't seen them together but, separate, they are awesome so I bet they are incredible together for sure. This young man just wasn't able to get some photos done before now and the deadline at school is near so we got together this afternoon to be sure that he had some options to chose from for the yearbook. We got it in no problem. A friend of mine from church hired me to do her son's graduation photos back in August. She loved her photos so much that she told me that she had a friend who was looking to have her daughter's photos taken and my friend referred me to her. What a compliment that is! So, I was able to chat with this beauty's mom and we planned on getting together after school today (in the bit of rainy weather) to get some photos. She is an extremely talented young woman. I am so happy I got to meet her! I could have spent the entire day with this sweet little boy and his mom! While mom and I got to chat to our hearts content, this handsome little guy was more than happy to play in front of the camera. What a sweet one year old little boy! These two beautiful girls were two of the first little ladies I had the pleasure of photographing when I started this adventure. I have been so lucky to capture their new little brother and their mom still comes to me to capture them as they grow. I am so unbelievably blessed to know this family. |
