Day One Hundred Ten: F/1.8 | Bokeh | Sharpness | Selective Focus
Shooting wide open is my favorite! I love the look of soft backgrounds that make my subjects pop. Today when I asked my kids who would like to be my model for the prompt - they fought over it! Gavin won though - we decided that mommy would make sure to keep track of who is used and make sure to keep it fair. I LOVE that they like to be involved with my hobby. This was a quick photo that actually came out pretty much like I had pictured in my head (that doesn't happen that often to be honest - they usually turn out much worse than I had hoped or much better). In fact, this came out even better than I had imagined because of that handsome young man smiling up at me through his umbrella on this rainy day.

This is the second time I have taken on this challenge. I completed a 365 in 2014 - took 2015 off and decided that this year I wanted to do another challenge. I am part of an amazing group of talented photographers who post an image from an interpretation of a prompt that we receive every day in our e-mail. It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how they translate that into a photograph. I am kicking myself that I didn't do a challenge in 2015 so this is me getting back into doing something I enjoy so very much! Archives
