Day 355/365: We went to church this morning for a special concert, but unfortunately my son got pretty sick so we had to leave. We were hoping for a nice play day outside but that is not to be. So, we are playing inside as much as possible. Making cookies in preparation of Christmas Eve to make sure that Santa has a yummy snack when he stops in, "camping" in the living room with our air mattress filled up and piled high with our pillows and blankets, and a fun Cat in the Hat Christmas program on the television. Bellies that aren't feeling so well are being fed juice and soup and we are getting a day full of rest!

Day 354/365: 5 Days Left!! Can't believe it! The kids had fun with this because it was as if, for the first time, they realized how many present are under the tree for them already! Our pile of presents has been added to daily! I love this time of year - an opportunity to spoil, spoil, spoil! They are such great kids. Truly! I am blessed to no end with these three wonderful people in my life!
Day 352/365: The brightest thing about this season is why we celebrate it - the birth of Jesus Christ! Our local churches from our small town of Pillager, MN had a live drive-through nativity scene last night and tonight. (We went last night). It was amazing! As we drove through they gave us a pamphlet with the story of each "scene" that they recreated for us. Scene One: "The Travelers" illustrated how Joseph and Mary traveled nearly 100 miles to Bethlehem. Scene Two: "The Angels" showed how the angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds proclaiming good news of great joy! Scene Three: "The Shepherds." The shepherds went with great haste to see the baby that the angels had announced. Scene Four: "The Manger." Oh what it would have been like to be a shepherd on that wonderful night. To come across Joseph and Mary watching over their precious new baby boy! Scene Five: "The Wisemen" who brought gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh. This truly was the most amazing experience! It really made our kids ask so many new questions now that they were able to really see what this event actually looked like! How thankful I am to all of these special people who put this on to truly illustrate why we celebrate Christmas! He is the reason for our season!
Day 351/365: There are EIGHT days left until Christmas! WOWZERS!!! We have a very fun countdown that we do each year. A book full of 24 ornaments. All of those poems that I have had on my photos this month have been from this book. Each day, my kids take an ornament out of the book to put on our tree. Under each ornament is the poem alongside a fun story of "Jingle" the husky who is the star of the story! It's so much fun and my kids LOVE this tradition we have created!
Day 347/365: We went to a very fun event at a Christian Camp in my neck of the woods with the kids today. They offer it each year for free to the public. They have sleigh rides, leather making, wreath making, crafts, snacks, a zip line, pony rides, and a gym full of things such as a rock climbing wall, a skate park, a bounce house, volleyball, basketball, foosball, pool, etc. It's a great camp and it's so much fun to bring my kids there. I worked there myself in my early adolescence. The absolute best part of this event is sitting with Santa! This year Santa was in the "corner" and he took his time with my munchkins as they shared their hopes for what he might bring them to fill their stockings. We'll have just a short time more to wait until that exciting night comes.
Day 346/365: How many days until Christmas? The kids of the world want to know! The clock on the wall has stopped ticking! The calendar's moving too slow! How many days until Christmas? It feels like one-hundred and four! Our patience ran out in November! We should've asked Santa for more! How many days until Christmas? We're tired of waiting - we're bushed! How can we make it move faster? Would it help if we got out and pushed?

I have taken on a challenge to take one photo a day for this entire year. I have been excited to join up with an amazing community of talented photographers who have also taken on this challenge. The goals I have for myself this year is to, first of all, complete the whole year of 365 photos. I also want to allow this challenge to teach me all I can about the equipment I have in order to better myself as a photographer. I am excited to learn and experience so much this year through this challenge. Thank you for taking the time to look through my journey. It truly means a lot to me. Archives
