Day 80/365: This is what the second day of spring looks like for us. Yesterday, this very large pinecone was discovered on a nice walk with my munchkins who, once they realized how full of sap it was, put it outside on our deck. This morning, light and fluffy snow covered it. Oh well... Such is the life of a Minnesotan! :)

Day 78/365: I have always loved those photos of names where the letters are created (either on purpose or naturally) out of different objects. Well today I wanted to create that a bit myself. It was harder with numbers... I was surprised at how little I was able to find numbers in my home. The three is from my daughter's last birthday when she turned three. The 6 is actually from a photo of my favorite body wash that has a rose on it and I thought the petals looked like a creative number six. And then the 5 is from a preservation of my sons hand from Kindergarten. This was a fun prompt today and got me out of my shell a bit. :)
Day 76/365: This was a special idea today as I have a collection of 4 leaf clovers (even a 5 leaf clover in the upper right hand corner) that were left in my grandma's bible. I got her special bible after she passed away and she had many clovers preserved within the pages of that special book. I wasn't able to save them all but those I did save I preserved even further by laminating them on this poem that I also found in her bible. This is something I read often and something that is very special to me. Grandma and I used to sit for hours in a clover patch just looking for these special treasures. I was surprised by how many were smushed in her pages, but it is a way of being close to her even in death... This was something that I remember sharing with her as a child and something that was obviously special to her too - otherwise she wouldn't have kept so many! My grandma could look down and find a 4 leaf clover out of the blue. It is a fun memory for me.
Day 74/365: Oh the life of a dog! This little thing is such an important part of our life and she has sure made her way into all of our hearts. She really thinks she is a little human. She is also becoming more and more of a favorite for me to photograph. She is going to be 11 years old this year and I'm afraid that her years are getting shorter. She is moving slower and sleeping more in her older age. Hoping for at least a few to 5 years more with my sweet girl. |

I have taken on a challenge to take one photo a day for this entire year. I have been excited to join up with an amazing community of talented photographers who have also taken on this challenge. The goals I have for myself this year is to, first of all, complete the whole year of 365 photos. I also want to allow this challenge to teach me all I can about the equipment I have in order to better myself as a photographer. I am excited to learn and experience so much this year through this challenge. Thank you for taking the time to look through my journey. It truly means a lot to me. Archives
