Oh! I am so excited to share these! My cousin, Katie, married her love, Marc, on this beautiful Saturday in White Bear Lake MN. The best thing about being family, is that I get to be a guest on top of being able to have a good excuse to run around and see everything and be everywhere and watch all the festivities of the day. Katie and Marc planned this wedding in such a way that really represented who they are as a couple. I took this photo of them last Christmas Eve which was the day AFTER Marc proposed! (I'll share that story in a bit)... We were so excited to share that happy news last Christmas for sure. I am pretty sure I screamed a little bit when she showed me her hand with that beautiful engagement ring on it! Katie and Marc met through a dating app called Tinder (how cool is that)?!? and their first official date was on 9/16/14. Katie told me about the date and man were they busy! They went out to eat, went fishing, cleaned fish, and then watched the movie Grumpy Old Men. (Who doesn't like that movie)?? Throughout their dating years Marc taught Katie how to grouse and duck hunt and also how to spearfish! Like I said before, Marc proposed on 12/23/15. They were celebrating their own Christmas together without the families. Katie was so excited about her gift to Marc and thought she would beat anything he gave her because she bought them Wild Tickets. However, he blew her out of the water when he first presented her with a kitchen aid stand-mixer, and second, with a ring box. He had wrapped it and placed it in her stocking to open last. WOW!! Way to go Marc! You are quite the thoughtful and romantic guy! I asked Katie to share some funny stories and the things she listed were their "many shenanigans together, such as building duck blinds, the camper/fish house stories, tires going flat on the boat trailers, becoming puppy-parents, etc." I am sure you can imagine how funny the 'long versions' of those stories would be. I know I can! Fast forward to the big day, July 16. The invitations have been sent, the RSVP's have been counted, the day is here and it is time to get married! Happy wedding day you two! You both looked amazing and I was so happy to be there! the GUYS I arrived early to meet up with the guys first as they were getting ready and we did some awesome group shots. Marc had some pretty amazing guys standing up with him. Steve (best man) and Marc went to high school together and have been best buddies ever since. Dan is Steve's older brother, and became good friends with Marc through hanging out with Steve. Alex and Marc met at college and became good friends through fishing. Jake and the groom also went to high school together and remained good friends as well. The ushers are Jim who is Marc's cousin and Joe, Katie's older brother. These guys were so much fun! I am going to remember the short hour I had with them for the rest of my life! They had me giggling quite a bit. Great group of guys ~ and they sure were handsome in their suits! After shooting at Marc's dad's house with the guys, I needed to get to the church to meet the girls as they arrived. Katie stepped out of the car and gave me that huge and happy smile ~ glowing is how I would describe her here! the GIRLSKatie's bridesmaids were absolutely lovely! Carissa (matron of honor) and Katie went to school together and knew each other through their dad's who were friends. They became even better friends in college. Sarah, Lea, and Kayla all became good friends with the bride through work. They are all RNs. Sarah and Kayla still work with Katie but Lea moved and now works in the cities but they stay in touch. Katie sure knew what she was doing when she asked these gorgeous ladies to stand with her. They were attentive and helpful. Anything she needed, she had assistance. The exact thing that a bridesmaid should be. This was also very fun - just walking with the girls and getting some fun shots. A good picture is easy to take when the subjects are so breathtaking! Of course the mothers of the bride and groom were in close proximity - always ready to lend a helping hand as necessary. the CEREMONY Katie and Marc wanted a traditional wedding - one where the groom doesn't see his bride before she walks down the isle toward him. Priceless! After the ceremony the families stayed close to get group shots. Katie and Marc are so blessed to have such supportive and loving people surrounding them on this happy day in their life! First photos of Mr. & Mrs. Heuer with their bridal party! Last but not least, the reception. A delicious meal, amazing cake, good conversation, lots of clicking of the glasses to get the bride and groom to kiss, dancing, bouquet toss and garter throw... Did I mention dancing? How about yummy drinks that make the dancing easier? Especially as the night goes on. I know those yummy drinks make me feel like dancing more. (Giggle). I enjoyed this day SO very much! I get to move around and everyone knows what I'm doing and that gives me permission to witness things in different ways... I get to experience a happy couple's biggest day of their life! Congratulations you two! I pray that your life as husband and wife blesses you both beyond anything you could have imagined! Thank you for sharing your day with me!
