The big day is finally here - the venue is perfect - the weather couldn't be any better - the guests all traveled to celebrate with the happy couple... All the good things that could have happened did - and all in one day for a couple that deserves nothing but happiness their whole life together. Congratulations Sam and Tanya!

I met Jason in 2000 and we were actually roommates for a bit 2002. Then life happened - time flew by and I didn't see him again until late 2016 when I got to meet Natasha and Arron and I did a photo session for them on that beautiful autumn day. Fast forward to now and these two beautiful people are tying their lives together in marriage. Oh, what a blessing it is to have witnessed this. Blessings on your life together my friends! It's so hard to pick the photos to share!
This wasn’t the plan... this isn’t what the bride envisioned for her day. And yet, the day was incredibly beautiful and intimate and perfect! The (bigger) party will just take place next year at this same venue on their one year anniversary when they will get to invite ALL of their friends and family to celebrate instead of just a few. My heart was broken for them ~ until I witnessed it all. April had the most radiant smile all day long and she planned everything beautifully. It was a day to remember and I loved their sense of humor (pulling out the masks and toilet paper ~ which I never imagined I would take photos of during a wedding)! Their venue was lovely and I loved the wine ceremony they did! Congratulations to you two! A marriage of two which makes a family of 4 with those two sweet munchkins! May your life together be blessed beyond measure!
Mr. & Mrs. Halling!!! I am so extremely blessed to know this couple! They just radiate love for each other and I could feel it throughout their entire wedding day. Lindsay’s dress is incredible isn’t it?!? And of course her handsome groom, Dustin, looks pretty dapper as well! They had such a lovely ceremony followed by an extremely fun reception surrounded by so many loved ones. Their garter toss was awesome because Lindsay played a little trick on Dustin by having one of the groomsmen sit in for her. Dustin had the best reaction to it! Then of course, getting to actually feel his new wife’s smooth leg in comparison ~ yeah, I am sure that was much better! Keep laughing with each other guys and you will have a happy marriage! Congratulations!! 9/27/2019 Britteny and Luke got married on this beautiful Friday afternoon. Each moment of their day was precious but for me, as the outsider looking in, I will never forget the emotion felt when Britteny and her siblings shared a dance in memory of their parents who passed this last year. The other thing that was especially meaningful was the end of their day when we stole a few moments so they could do their God’s Knot ~ A Cord of Three Strands ceremony. I loved being able to witness that! Luke and Britteny, I am so very happy for you both and wish nothing but the best for you and your little family! Always keep God first and there is nothing you won’t accomplish in your marriage! "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." Ecclesiastes 4:12 Back in early September, I was invited to join one of my very dear friends and a group of ladies from her church for a weekend up in Duluth. This was such a special weekend for me because I live 2 hours away from these gals but they included me anyway. So, that's how I met this beautiful bride. She was telling us on that weekend that her and her fiancee haven't set a date yet. But then, in November she sent me a message asking if I would like to photograph her wedding! Ummmm, YES! Flash forward and today's the day! They had the most laid back and comfortable environment for their special day. No fancy flare was necessary for this couple as they start their lives as husband and wife. I am so blessed to have met you all those months ago and then to share this special day with you two. You had a beautiful wedding! Another special occasion today was that it was the groom's father's birthday. They made sure to honor that by celebrating him with a birthday cake too! Today, I was invited to witness a wedding behind my camera and it was amazing! This young couple oozed love! You could feel it in every detail of the day. From the way they planned the day together, the way they looked at each other, the way they sought each other out when their guests would inevitably separate them throughout the day, the way they cuddled and kissed, and especially the way they made God the center of their day... those things prove how strong their marriage is going to be and that it's going to stand the test of time. I am so honored to say that I witnessed this young couple start their married life together. I pray that their lives together bring them nothing but blessings. (Another special note on this day is that my brother came and acted as my second shooter for the day. It allowed me to spend some time with him too and I have to say he did an awesome job taking photos and also helped me out so much)! Jesse and Devyn have the most amazing story. They met at her parent’s church when Jesse was there with the Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge clients singing and sharing their testimonies. The congregation was asked to pick out a few faces and pray for those specific guys. Jesse was one of the young men that Devyn was compelled to pray for. After the service Devyn and her mom introduced themselves to him and told him that they were going to pray for him. She prayed for him until he graduated from MNTC 4 months after they met. They started dating shortly after that! Fast forward to today and they are finally becoming husband and wife! The details of their wedding were gorgeous! I am so blessed to have been included in such a special day. This is some of the excitement that went on early in the day. My sister-in-law has a very large family. She and my brother have been together for over 17 years and with that kind of history, I have been lucky to get to know some of her family members as well. She is one of NINE kids. :) A fun fact about that is that all 9 siblings have names that start with the letter "J." The youngest sibling got married today and asked ME to capture her special occasion. Of course, I couldn't say no! I have known this beautiful bride for all these years so to be able to capture the start of her new life with her hubby - how could I refuse? She planned such a beautiful day. Another special piece to this day is that my brother brought his camera and acted as a second shooter for me. That allowed her to get even more special memories captured from her own brother-in-law too.
I met this beautiful bride when I took my cousin's wedding photos last year. She was in the bridal party for my cousin and now my cousin is in this wedding too. They have such a great friendship and I am so honored that they both trusted me to capture one of the most significant days in their lives. Today was a PERFECT day for an outdoor wedding. The temperature was great and the sun was shining... It was just perfect. They had the most beautiful spot to get ready - a resort on Upper Red Lake. Luke proposed while they were fishing on that lake. It was a special spot for sure. I started by going back and forth between the cabins where the girls were getting ready and then to the cabin where the guys were getting ready. I always love standing back and hearing the happy conversations that take place during this time. Back in April 2016 the proposal happened like this: The Groom brought his future Bride to the movie Beauty and the Beast at a dinner theater and then afterwards, took her to their favorite pier where he asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. She said yes! Fast forward to today, June 3, 2017 ~ This is all about them:
Oh! I am so excited to share these! My cousin, Katie, married her love, Marc, on this beautiful Saturday in White Bear Lake MN. The best thing about being family, is that I get to be a guest on top of being able to have a good excuse to run around and see everything and be everywhere and watch all the festivities of the day. Katie and Marc planned this wedding in such a way that really represented who they are as a couple. I took this photo of them last Christmas Eve which was the day AFTER Marc proposed! (I'll share that story in a bit)... We were so excited to share that happy news last Christmas for sure. I am pretty sure I screamed a little bit when she showed me her hand with that beautiful engagement ring on it!
Let me tell you a story about three girls who were the best of friends... Two of those girls were sisters and lived right down the road and we were inseparable for many, many summers growing up. After all our chores were done I would ride my bike to their house and the three of us would go a bit further down the road to a resort to swim. We did this every single day. Not only that, but we had sleepovers all the time and I also remember making bracelets and necklaces with embroidery floss with them as well. This friendship slowly just lost touch. Nothing serious, of course! The sisters were older than I was so they graduated before me and started their lives earlier than I could. Fast forward to about 6 years ago when one of the sisters married her handsome hubby. I was able to get to the ceremony (which was beautiful) so I could at least say hello to my friends there. Time and distance passed us once again until 3 or 4 months ago when I was contacted on FB and was asked if I would be willing to possibly do photos for their dad's upcoming wedding. Lo-and-behold, their dad did contact me which brings me to this event.. this breathtaking wedding on this beautiful spring day! select "read more" to view more of this beautiful day
Today brought us a day of love and celebration as Anthony and Amanda exchanged their vows in marriage. I was asked to capture their day and man was I excited for it! Speaking with Amanda prior to her special day, I learned that she was looking for just a few of the posed things as far as weddings go which did make my job very easy. She only wanted to make sure that I got dad's first reaction to seeing the bride and, of course, her groom's reaction as she walked down the aisle. Other than that, she gave me creative license to do what I do and I had SO MUCH FUN! This wedding and all the details were amazing. The DIY elements done by the bride and groom pulled everything together in such a way that really gave you a feel of how these two are as a couple - rustic, carefree, laidback, and fun-loving are some of the words that come to mind as I think about what they portrayed with their wedding... view more of this beautiful wedding by selecting "read more" below
I spent the day with these two amazing women that I have known for 20 years! We have been through so much in our life as friends - from heartaches, divorces, deaths, successes, marriage, children, and moves. These two women are ambitious and bright, they are confident and determined. As friends they are encouraging. They are so fun to be around because they are energetic and entertaining, silly, unusual, and upbeat. They are kind-hearted and sincere. They are extremely successful and talented. They are the faithful kind of friends who are sincere, trustworthy, and all around wonderful.
We had always said that once all three of us got married, we would get together in our dresses and do a photo shoot. So that's exactly what we did today. (I am the photographer - which was difficult! All I can say is thank goodness for my remote shutter release)!! click "read more" to see the other photos we got today! |
