151/365 ~ Who Me? | Surprised | Guilty | Uh Oh
Blake and I went with Gavin's class on a field trip today. Blake decided to join Gavin because I wasn't able to attend both trips (two of the 4th grade classes went yesterday and two went today). The trip was to Duluth, MN which is a 2.5 hour trip from our school. We first toured the Lake Superior Maritime Museum where we learned about the shipwreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald - the entire 29 man crew died on November 10, 1975 when the ship sank during a horrible storm. Look this up - there is a very good song written about this tragedy by Gordon Lightfoot. After a lunch break on the shore of the great lake we went on a floating ship tour in the SS William A Irvin. Here we got to see the inside and outside of what these freight ships do and we all learned a lot! It's actually "me who" is "surprised" when I realize how quickly this year has gone. In just two days I will magically have middle-schoolers. There was a bit of "guilt" from this mom today because I was worried that Blake felt really out of place in his brother's class (luckily, this wasn't true and Blake had a blast with the other friends he has in these classes and he insisted that he wanted to be with me). And the "Uh Oh" part of this prompt belongs to me as well when I think that in just two days everyone's routine changes. Summer gets tough for this working mom whose routine HAS to stay the same because I don't have the blessing of taking a break from it for a few months each year. EEK!

This is my THIRD challenge! I completed an entire 365 in 2014 - then in 2015, I tried to do something different and failed miserably so I was excited to take the challenge back on for 2016 and I successfully completed last year too! I am part of an amazing group of talented photographers who post an image from an interpretation of a prompt that we receive every day in our e-mail. It's so neat to see how differently a person perceives a simple word or concept and how they translate that into a photograph. I enjoy this challenge very much and I am looking forward to seeing what 2017 brings! You can view my past projects by clicking the links below for each year. Archives
